I'm totally with you on that feeling when you can only get a few bites down of a food you used to love lol and the hair yeah sucks I'm trying to grow mine long and it looks like its never going to happen the way its falling :c and awesome on your walks! Good luck on your journey. keep in touch
  3. About the same. I'm trying to make what I eat count nutritionally and am learning those signals they say stop eating so I'm not miserable. Sometimes I feel sad because I was only able to eat three bites of something I really like. Still I like the way I look much better. Now I am worried as I am losing a lot of hair. While I have always had hair to spare, it still is unsettling to pull out be hand fully everyday. I'm told it is normal and it will grow back. Still. I started excersize wize to walk 10-15 minutes before each meal. I'm up to 20 minutes now. I'm going to start a 30 minute work out to go w/ that tomorrow ... I hope

happy week 16 post op vsg
I'm doing ok as far as loss goes, but healthy wise I don't think I was mentally prepared for this journey, I have horrible eating habits so, I'm trying to change that. As far as exercising I started yesterday, but I'm hoping to get a routine set bc I really need to get my head in the game if I want to reach my goal weight. So far I've lost about 68lbs. Other than that I sometimes have trouble with nausea, like certain foods, or restaurants make me extremely nauseous. So that's my 411, how are you girly?

That's awesome that you have more energy, I really need to get my butt to the gym:/ yeah I went back to work about a week after surgery
  6. No, I haven't started working out yet. I keep saying I'm going to get up and walk before I go to work. I never do, though. I am getting more active and have more energy. There for a minute, I was getting up, going to work, come home, eat something and go immediately to bed. I can actually get a few things done before I collapse in my bed at night. Are you back to work yet?

wow 36 lbs.! AWESOME loss girl! have you started working out yet?,,, i have not :s
And yeah i can eat pretty much anything but for some weird reason i have a hard time with soft musy things like pudding, and oatmeal.. starting to up my water intake so hoping that will help me lose more weight. My incision is closing as well, a few more weeks and it will be fully healed i'm thinking. I'm happy for you, your doinng super good. Keep me posted!
  8. Pretty good. Incision getting smaller but still reminding me I have it if I do something stupid. How's yours? Food...I can pretty much eat whatever I want, I just have to chew it really good and don't eat a lot of it. You? I have lost 36 lbs so far...I'll take that in 5 weeks.

hey buddy hows it been going? hows that incision? how are u doing with food?
  10. I haven't braved the veggies yet. I still can only really hold a couple of bites of protein and figure I need that to heal. I have been drinking SOBE vitamin water and am able to do better with that than just straight water. I did just have someone suggest K20 protein water in the pink lemonade flavor. Get your water and protein in at same time. That sound promising. I will have to look at the powerade too. Thanks!

i am still having problems with one incision, its like right below my bra so its been hard for it to close. I am doing really good. BUT I dont drink protein shakes :/ even tough i should and i havent been taking my vitamins , except for the shots. And its week four now, so I started soft foods yestarday, ate some boiled mushy vegetables but wasnt feeling it so i think ill stick to pureed for a little while longer. And have you tried powerade? thats mainly what ive been drinking.
I hope your incision gets better!

Sorry! I missed the 3 month blog. Things were busy. It is a little past 4 month, but feel it counts. I am 75 lbs down and wearing a size 18 that I haven't worn since I was in my early 20's. I feel great. The only down side I have is for the past month, I have been losing hair. Not the greatest feeling in the world. I have been told it is because my body has gone through a shock with the surgery and the new diet. I have also been told it is because I don't eat enough protein. So, I am trying to

Hi! I have lost 48 lbs and feel good most days. I just get tired earlier in the day. No biggie though. I eat about 600-700 calories a day. A typical day for me is:
B- protein smoothie (about 4 oz)
S- sunflower seeds (no salt)
L- 2 thin slices of sandwich meat (turkey) and 1/2 slice of cheese
S- Greek yogurt
D- 3oz of lean meat and a small serving of veggie
S- fruit

I walk 10-15 minutes before each main meal

I included recent

Today is 1 month since surgery...

by justamy624 on 06-03-2013 at 09:39 AM
I intend to post once a month about my progress. I found that these posts helped me the most when I was researching or just need some encouragement. It has been one month since my surgery and I have lost 35 lbs. I am eating pretty much regular foods now, just really small portions and have to chew them really well. For example yesterday I had:
B: 1 cup skim milk
S: watermelon spear
L: went out to eat at Chevy's, had a pork tamale (I ate two bites of the insides) 1/2 a flour
