    Hopefully I'll see you later
  3. Yay for us!!! I will be thinking of you on our day!! I hope all goes well for us too!! I am sure it will!! Best of luck for you for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery!! Peace and God Bless!! Tami
  4. We have very similar timings then Julia. I started in March 2010 and got on the waiting list in December 2010, so it would seem they are catching up finally on their list! No, I was thinking that today - I have had no info re post op diet but the nurse did say to me that a dietitian would come round and see me on the ward to discuss it, so i guess that's when we'll find everything out. I am so worried about being cancelled at the last minute! At least Pauline (in the Admissions office) said today that she thought we should be ok due to it being a small list. Also the nurse had said to me that it being a bank holiday monday would mean it was quieter which was a good thing. So lets keep everything crossed. How old is your little one? And thank you Fran71 x

Wow, I started my journey in May 2010 but did not get on the waiting list till Aug last yr. That what I'm scared of as my eldest goes back to uni and I'll have no help with my little one.
Keeping everything crossed for the both of us.
Did they give you any info on post op diet etc, I realised that I got no info from them at all.
  7. Thank you. I'm doing ok but really hungry on this diet and it has made me realise just what I'm facing - which is not a bad thing really. X

I'm really struggling as my stomach is not having fun with the milk... :-( I had a major slip up last week never cook food for the kids when you're hungry that was a very bad idea..lol
I drank a lot of fluid which kept me full and varied the flavour.

Can I ask do you have to wait for them the call you on the 27 to confirm there is a bed or do you just go straight in?

About Alliejc
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I am 45 years old, divorced and mum to 15 years old twin boys who are my whole world. I have been overweight since the age of 4, so have absolutely no idea what it is like to be slim, or buy clothes from a 'normal' shop. I have lost weight numerous times but no more than 3 stone each time, and every time I went off the diet, I put on more than I lost. My health is now an issue. I have high blood pressure and now diabetes and I now feel that I can't do things with my kids that I really want to. So I took the decision to ask my gp about surgery as I am now desperate. So here goes to a new, happy and healthy life!

Christmas target

by Alliejc on 12-24-2012 at 07:27 AM
So...I had set myself a target for Christmas day. I wanted to get to 6 stones lost but the week before it didn't look like I was going to make it. I weighed myself yesterday and have lost almost half a stone this week - hitting bang on 6 stone! I'm ecstatic! It really does give me the boost I need to continue this healthy eating.

I don't think it is like this for everyone, but I am still struggling with eating. The minute I have had a mouth or two of food, I get terrible gurgling

2 months and I think my head is finally 'there'!

by Alliejc on 10-28-2012 at 06:55 AM
I am now just over 2 months post surgery and I've lost 4 stone and 3lbs. I'm so thrilled at seeing the weight loss that I think I am finally losing my love of food - which has been a life long habit.

I know I'm not eating as much as I should be, and I'm still struggling to get as much fluids in as I should but I am so conscious about WHAT I am eat rather than the amount now which is great. I check all the fat, sugar, etc contents on the sides of food packets and I never snack in

Wow this isn't what I was expecting from the sleeve

by Alliejc on 10-18-2012 at 02:13 PM
Hi

I had my surgery 7 weeks ago. I'm really pleased with my weight loss so far but I have to say the whole experience wasn't what I expected.

I was under the illusion that most 'normal' sized people are under...that this was an easy fix. I didn't matter how many times I had read on here that it wasn't, I was convinced I wouldn't be hungry or even want food that much. I had absolutely no counselling or idea what to expect post surgery.

A week after
