Not much privacy in the hospital rooms. They are approx. 10x12 and 2 patient beds per room. Bring earplugs and a blindfold if you want to sleep during daytime hours.I case you didn't already know the Hospital is in small retail area next door to an Office Depot and across from an Adult Toy Shop

No they do not bring the meds to the Hotel. They send a transport vehicle to the hotel to pick you up at a certain time, and take you back to the hospital. The first night they will keep you in the hospital for surgery. If there is an empty bed in your room your husband may sleep on one of them. If not he needs to be prepared to sleep on a couch, You may want to bring a small heating pad for your back and a large safety pin so you can pin up the drain port bottle to your blouse or pants while you are walking around after the surgery to relieve the gas pain. Also you may want to bring a small 2 prong indoor extension cord if you plan to plug in your heating pad or laptop and use it in the hotel room. The plugs are only on one side of the room and a fridge is not in the room.

I also forgot to mention bring whatever toiletries u use at home to freshen up and feel your best. I brought a toothbrush/toothpaste, mouthwash (or the Listerine strips), deodorant, an eye mask and ear plugs, and gas x strips. Small toiletries that helped a lot!

Part 2 continued: I txt my fam and friends constantly and they all reassured me in their own way. Try to relax and remember that any discomfort is temporary. My surgeon explained to me that the initial 36 hrs tends to be the worst. Imagine your tummy like you bit your tongue. Its going to be irritated and inflamed for a a day or so afterwards.
