  7. So my next door neighbor came up to me and asked me about what is happening with my surgery. I told her I just had my screening and was approved last week. She was so encouraging and non judgemental. I was really encouraged. Just sharing!

I am so glad to be here! I am having fun. It's so good to have so many people going through this at the same time. So many other experiences to share and shoulders to cry on or laugh with. I look forward to all of us sharing our good and bad times to help each other through our journey. Take care and good luck.

Welcome to the board and congratulations on your decision to have the gastric sleeve.

I have a few suggestions. For a clear protein, I suggest Protica Profect 50. It is a whopping 50 grams of protein in a 3.2 oz vial Protica - Detail

For a really great tasting protein powder, I suggest Max Protein. You can purchase at GNC or online. SEI Pharmaceuticals

To keep track of your calorie intake and measurements and weight. FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal This is really useful when you think you've stalled on your weight loss. You can look at what you actually measure!

This blog - theworldaccordingtoeggface She posts some great recipe's and suggestions.

I was on clear liquids for a week, full liquids for another week, puree'd foods for a week, soft foods for a week and then slowly moved on to regular foods while still including the previous foods into my daily food intake. Just don't get ahead of yourself. Take small sips and then small bites. Don't be in a big hurry to eat whatever you want.

In the forum check out this section for suggestions: Gastric Sleeve Diet, Recipes, and Nutrition
Keep a positive attitude and you will do great!

Out of the 180's

by Lglow on 11-04-2011 at 05:14 PM
I am so excited b/c I was like in a stall. Today I got on the scale and am out of the 180's. I have not been below 184 since 2009. Yoyo dieting is a thing of the past and I really feel like I have beat the set points. I believe the 180's were so pyschological because I could not beat them for so long.

I am just thrilled!

Hi Everyone! Thank you for the support and well wishes on my surgery date. I am happy to report I made it through the recovery with just a few glitches in my bp that were straightened out in the first few days. I left the hospital last evening and have been outside walking and drinking without complications. I am pretty gassy and having liquad bm's and pretty gassy but that is to be expected according to my surgeon from something he explained I don't remember. I am using my Inspirameter quite

by Lglow on 09-17-2011 at 06:30 PM
Whew! My doc called today but I missed the call and left a voice mail saying that I have Gerd and had not been cleared and we needed to talk about this. Need less to say I had him paged and he called back 2 hours later (I thought he was playing golf or something b/c he wasn't calling back and they said he wasn't there today , turns out HE was there in surgery lol) so he call s back and says "you have Gerd " according to the chart, and I should mention he is my surgeon, but my primary
