Your making me nervous lol!!! Next Monday around this time I will be sleeved! My new me begins! Can't wait!
Thanks for the welcome!!!!!
Feelin' good bro. I've had no problems at all other than self-inflicted ones that I wrote about. I had mackerel and it was just too greasy and made me queasy. The worst part was the drain tube. It didn't hurt when they pulled it out but I sure knew they were pulling something out of me! I got a head start with the liquid diet and so I was used to what I had to do by the time surgery rolled around. Right now, the hardest thing for me is not being able to eat salad. I like salad a lot and I have to wait until I can have that. But this has been a pretty process for me. I gained weight in boot camp actually. I went in at 186 and came out at 194 so they gave me a weight waiver. I was running between 19:30 & 19:50 for my PFT runs for about the first 5 years so my weight was never a problem. I was just always "heavy". I was a gym rat too. I pretty much was either at work, in the barracks, or in the gym. I rarely hit the E-club and was more concerned about working out. When you stop working out, flab and fat become your friend! You had surgery yet?
Hey what's going on hard-charger? Yeah, there's a couple of us on here. Got sick after I got out in '99. Was having symptoms before my EAS but the Doc on my final physical said it was just poor circulation. Turned out I had Myasthenia Gravis. Years and years of steroids to control the disease and my weight went out of control big time. Couldn't pass a PFT if you paid me cash money! Getting back to it. My goal is to attend the Marine Corps Ball this year in my Blues. Haven't gone to the Ball in some time because there was no way I was gonna let other Devil Dogs see me so fat. Was a 1341 Heavy Equipment Mechanic by MOS. Spent all my time either on ship, on Okinawa, or with LSB (Red Patchers) down at Del Mar. Was in for 13 years. Couldn't pick up SSgt. They gave me a check and said "thanks for coming!" Don't regret it though. Best thing to ever happen to me. Would do it all over again tomorrow if I could! Semper Fi Marine!
Thank you! I'm only 4.5 lbs (2kg) away from my goal... but went to my see my Dr. this morning and gave me my "before" picture. So I decided to share it today, I feel there already
Apparently I can't figure out how to send a message back to you, I sent one to myself. lol. I lost 10 pounds before surgery and 31 since surgery. I am happy to help if you have any questions. Good luck on your surgery, it really is a life changing and has been an amazing 6 weeks.
Thank you!
Welcome. I am just getting started with my gastric sleeve journey. I will be going .to Mexico in May and will have surgery with Dr. Almanza. This forum is a big help. People are so willing to help. Stay in touch, Robinsnest0417
I'm doing great! Thanks for asking. How are you?
My family is very supportive. I haven't really explained it to my kids yet but my husband just wants me to be happy. I am struggling with my 6 month diet trial; I mean I don't know what to eat, I've cut calorie intake, increased water intake and I'm not losing anything. I have to lose 6lbs before my surgery which I am sure is doable but I would like to lose more (who wouldn't?).And to think, I was concerned that it would be hard balancing the weight because my NUT told me if I lost more than 30 lbs I would no longer be eligible for the sleeve, but turns out it's not going to be a problem after all... How is your family with your decision to be sleeved? Oh-and good luck at the psych eval! It's not bad.
Im doing good, just having a hard time with my preop diet
Hey PR8R! Dr. Moon is my surgeon too! Where are you in the process? I am expected to go through with the surgery in June or July after my 6month diet trial...
