    Post op day 5.

    I really thought I would be feeling better. Recovery has been tough. All I want to do is sit or lay and rest. I fall to sleep quickly. Getting up and down really pulls on my stomach muscles. Turning over is painful. My NUT has ordered 60 gm protein, 60 oz fluid and 60 min walking. I can do 1 and 3 but fluids i have not accomplished. The most fluid is 45 oz. No BM yet. Could I be constipated? I took moral ax last night with no effects.

    Increased amalyse levels from drain


    Has anyone experienced increased amalyse levels in the drainage contents. Apparently it should be less than 150 mine is 157. Should I be worried?

Post op Day 5. Constipation?

I am 5 days out. Recovery has not been as smooth as I thought. It is hard to take in enough liquids. Swallowing is not the issue it is feeling of fullness all the time. Everything that hits my stomach has some form of burp coming back. I have taken lortab liquid about 2-3 times a day. No BM yet. Could I be constipated? What day post op did you feel good enough to doing things other than sleeping. I live a very busy lifestyle and lying around is so frustrating

Surgery tomorrow sept 16

I am excited and apprehensive at the same time. Tomorrow I go for my surgery. Along with surgery they are repairing a hiatal hernia. Here are my worries. Will it hurt a lot? Will I be able to take in liquids after hernia repair? Will I be able to lose weight? Losing weight has always been very hard for me. I hope this time will be successful. Ready or not, I am taking the plunge. Here is to better health and regular sized clothing. I will update when I get home. Prayers appreciated.
