Hi Jodi, I have just finished uploading my BLOG for my complete journey. Have a read you may get something out of it. This is the best thing you can do for yourself. I followed the diet pre and post - to the letter! If you have a positive attitude then you WILL NOT FAIL! Talk to your Drs, look on websites, accept help and advice from those who have been there. I was really excited too and couldn't concentrate on anything but my sleeve. Once I recovered there was no turning back. It's been an easy ride for me. I sincerely wish you all the best for your surgery day. Sharon

Two months ago today

by jodip on 05-12-2013 at 09:07 PM
Two months ago today I was sleeved. I have now lost 35 pounds! I am so psyched. Only 24 lbs until my goal weight although now I wonder if I will want to lose more. Never would I have dared think that before. I am so glad I decided to have this surgery and take care of myself.
It took awhile but I have figured out what works for me in terms of when to eat and drink and which foods do not agree with me. I still cannot tolerate breads but who really needs then anyway? I'm still amazed by how

8 Weeks

by jodip on 05-07-2013 at 04:06 PM
Today is 8 weeks since my surgery and I have lost 33 lbs. and gone down two pants sizes. It took awhile to get into used to eating and drinking separately and more often but I've finally gotten the hang of it. What a difference being sleeved has made in my life. I am so glad I did this! I am slightly more than half way to my goal. Woohoo!

4 weeks post op

by jodip on 04-08-2013 at 07:22 PM
Trying not to be too frustrated but this is my second stall already. 12 days and no weight loss. Ugh. The last few days my stomach has been gurgling away and I have been so hungry. So much for not feeling hungry and having to remind myself to eat. Sigh... The other lovely thing is constipation. 12 days without a BM. Thank goodness I thought to take tool softeners after day 6 or so. The good news is I am now able to consume enough protein so my energy level is starting to pick up. Now I just need

17 Days Post Op

by jodip on 03-29-2013 at 12:20 PM
Today is 17 days since I was sleeved. For the most part I am doing great. I returned to work on Monday. Have made it through each day but am exhausted when I get home. My biggest challenge is getting enough protein each day. I am trying to eat more and drink that seems like constantly. I experienced my first stall which lasted four days. The past two days weight is slowly coming off. I have lost 18 pounds and I am thrilled. Pants that I was stuffing myself into now fit with room to spare which is

Day 9 Post Op Protein Woes

by jodip on 03-21-2013 at 08:42 PM
I am doing fine with drinking, popsicles, sf pudding. I've eaten a few slices of cheese and have had a scrambled egg twice now. My problem is I cannot manage to drink the protein shakes. I had no problems with them prior to surgery but now, not so much. I doubt I've gotten even 10 grams of protein in per day.I need to start getting my energy back and I know that won't happen without the protein. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
