  1. Your avatar makes me smile!! Look how much smaller your face is Looking good there Luke! I'm doing well, thanks. The greatest thing recently is my 7 year old son realized he can wrap his arms all the way around me for the first time in his life. I about died in the kitchen of happiness. Yay NSVs!!

Wow i just saw a post you replied to and i gotta say that you look great!!! I just had to come to your profile and give you a cyber high 5!
  6. With the knowledge you seem to have about proteins and such, What is your opinion on the Whey Protein shots? I was thinking of using these after my sleeve but I have heard a lot of conflicting information about the type of protein being either absorbable or not.
  7. Thank you so much for posting the blog about protein! It was very informative and it was information I have been needing. I will be sleeved in 27 days and have also been reading all the threads and such and they are very confusing. Thanks again and you do look great!

Luke your post about stalls was hilariously funny.. Had me laughing out loud and reading it to my husband who had a gastric band back in 2007 and lost half his body weight so much so when I saw him again I didn't recognise him. Anyway thanks for the encouraging post. I think my body is rearranging the garage hoping it will have a yard sale shortly... Thanks for the great laugh and my husband said something very funny about errr kneecaps too.. And I know we all identify with that no matter male or female ! Certainly sounds like you are a success story ..take care and again thanks

I feel great! Thanks for asking! I was a little sluggish earlier in the week, but seem to be getting my energy back. Had my first NSV in the form of what could have been a very embarrassing moment. I put my phone in the pocket of the pants I was wearing yesterday and the weight of the phone pulled my pants down Thankfully I was at home and not in public! I realized that I could easily take them off without unbuttoning/zipping them. So this morning I tried on a pair that I haven't been able to wear since last summer and they fit perfect- even a bit loose. Woo hoo!

eta: it dawned on me when I re-read this that even being able to put my phone in my pants pocket was an NSV in itself. I don't think I've been able to do that for a LONG time- my pants are always too tight. Woot!

About luke
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
BACKGROUND:

I started at 416lbs and have most of the metabolic syndrome problems (diabetes, fatty liver, hypertension, joint pain, etc.) My doctors told me I probably wasn't going to see my son graduate. That was very motivating. My sleeve is a good tool for helping me control my portion size and reminding me to eat the best food I can. It's made me really be aware of the type and quality of food I eat and has given me a boost with immediate weight loss. This in turn solved some joint problems, making it easier to be more active! So the weight come off faster and makes it easier to exercise...etc.

Rather than a downward spiral, my sleeve has helped to put me on an upward climb, giving me the boost I needed to get going and make a healthier me.

Needless to say, it hasn't been easy. My blog contains all the details of the good, bad and weird that happened to me along the way. I have a long way to go, but I think I'm going to get where I want to be.
