  1. I'm also still adjusting to the tummy....we just had our thanksgiving and I was so impressed that I didn't need to throw-up once I think i may be getting there. I'm with a Gd 5 autistic girl this year and she is none verbal and a bit of a screamer...some days are just 1 too many. but mostly it is great. I've had so much fun throwing out the clothes that don't fit any more.....because this time I'm sure I won't be going back to that size again. Shopping is becoming fun again. Not much luck finding sugar free popsicles here as the snow was falling yesterday. So nice to hear from you I don't get on the site often as life is just crazy. Take care and keep in touch...Hoping to visit a friend in AZ. in Dec. Maybe if your close to the airport we could grab a pop or something.

Hi Fran! How are you?! I'm doing well. Still adjusting to this new tummy of mine. I've lost about 50 lbs so far and I'm very happy with my results. I had a few problems with my incisions too. School is going great. I love 3rd grade!!! Just coming off of our fall break so back to the grind on Monday. How's things with you?? I haven't been on this website since surgery. I've just never found the time to get on. I will tell ya... I have found a new addiction to sugar free popsicles. I seriously can't get enough of them! ha ha ha

I'm glad to hear you're happy with your surgery choice! It will get easier, I promise! I didn't have the easiest of times transitioning but thankfully I made it through!

I'm doing fantastically, I feel amazing and I'm now researching the reconstructive surgery I want for the excess skin I'm left with. I have my first free consult with a plastic surgeon next week!

Hi Molly! Welcome fellow Canuck! My husband & I moved to BC this month so I guess I'd better change that now

Honestly I don't know many lap band patients so I can't speak to their experiences.

    Good luck!!!!

4 weeks later...

by molly3 on 08-01-2012 at 11:30 AM
It's getting close to 4 weeks since my surgery. Everything seems to have gone well. Some of my incisions have taken longer to heal that others and I've had moments where \i'm tired of what my stomach will allow me to eat hope that someday \i can actually have a bite of pizza or a sandwich while out loosing it all. But I've lost 22 lbs after year and years of my weight going up and up and then down only marginally.
