I love your new picture! You can really see a difference. Your new goal weight sound good, too. You'll be there in no time flat!! I've got to find some pictures of me to post. I barely have any as I was always camera shy.

You know that's what I'm going back to school to become, also?! It's been a slow go, because I'm working full-time and also have a part time job. My losing weight is only going to help me all the more get through the clinical while working at the same time. It would be nice if we lived closer I, also, know some one that has had the surgery, a woman at my job, she was and has been a huge help to me. I remember while I was researching the procedure I kept running across people that had the surgery with fabulous results. That really encouraged me. All we seem to hear about are the negative comments and cases. It is just a tool not a magic bullet. Going into this thing knowing that is what makes the difference with us. Let me know when you start your program. Cheers on the nsv!!

You know what I'm looking forward to most? Riding a roller coaster!! 2nd is being able to fit, comfortably, in an airplane seat. My decision to have surgery was motivated much like yours was. I'm the largest in my family, I have a twin brother who has the best metabolism and struggles to gain weight! (REALLY!!!) I'm the biggest person in my department at work, though that is rapidly changing! My sizes vary. I can fit into some 22's and the 24's are loose. My work uniform is a 3X and will eventually need to be replaced. I'm 5'7 and pear shaped so the majority of my weight is in my hips! They'll be the last to go, I'm sure:°\ I have to make choices, daily, to eat good food. I still, occasionally, desire, (I can't say that I crave) junky foods. I'm sure that it's a head thing because when I see commercials for restaurants I don't want that food... I don't miss my feet being so swollen that it hurt to walk and my shoes got tight as the night wore on..I don't miss feeling lethargic throughout the day because of all the crap that I was eating. I don't miss being crabby because of being malnourished, yes, we were malnourished I love this wonderful God given gift! I'm thankful every day. Thank you for responding, I really enjoy hearing from you. Congratulations on your loss so far, too!! (I had to post this in two messages because it was too long)

Yes, I should check in with the Sep sleevers more often! My weight loss is going good I'm down a total of 50 lbs including my pre-op diet. I am moving much better and able to do my job better, I work in a hospital. I finally am able to fit into a uniform that I bought when I first started at the hospital. It was SO tight that I never wore it..now it's loose and soon, this winter at least, I'll have to get another one! I've struggled with being content with my own personal loss, too. I'm learning that this journey is my very own as are my losses. A friend of mine got me the fitbit charge hr for my birthday. I love it and it helps me keep up with what I'm doing daily and even try to do more. I'm loving my life so far and so look forward to what my future holds.

Well, I understand the complaint, and it's not like you stayed there You have a very good outlook on life so you've already shaken yourself and have seen the good. I went through the same thing! My daughter just stared at me blankly when I complained to her... It is good to know that I'm not the only one! About your exhaustion, I wouldn't be too hard on myself. The altitude there is greater and affects your ability to to what you did before. Doing a mile is very good being new to that altitude. I will definitely try to implement more water into my diet as I know that it's detrimental to my getting to goal. Just think in a year (or less) we'll look like totally different people! Sometimes I can't wrap my head around it! I'm so happy that you are doing so well!

Finally!

by LaffeyTaffey on 08-17-2015 at 05:27 PM
Finally! I was on a walk with my baby this morning and got THE call. My surgery is set for September 22! It's finally going to be MY turn after 3+ years of watching others get the sleeve surgery. I've been working my butt off to lose at least the 17 requires pounds and I surpassed that a few months ago so whew! I'm hoping to get down to 300 pounds by my surgery date. I believe I weigh 319 currently, so I'm going to cross my fingers and keep doing what I've been doing since I started my required

So I'm having a baby!

by LaffeyTaffey on 11-23-2013 at 02:50 AM
Hey everyone it's been a while! This past June amidst starting my wls journey, I discovered that I'm pregnant. So instead of having my wls around now, I'm doing my best to stay healthy for my little guy who is due Feb 22nd.

I was so concerned about pregnancy AFTER wls that I honestly didn't think it would happen before lol. My ultrasound at 22 weeks showed that he was just slightly over a pound and has a perfect heartbeat. So far so good

I've actually lost 4 pounds

Hopeful Thoughts!

by LaffeyTaffey on 04-10-2013 at 08:42 AM
Well, I've done it. I've finally sent the bank statements (from when I was in High School) to my parents. They took the $4,000+ that I had saved without asking and didn't believe me when I told them so. Thus, copies of the bank statements have been sent to see if they will fullfill their promise of paying me back once I showed proof.

It's my money and i sure would love to use it to pay off my surgery! I guess I'll see just how "honest" they are. Thank goodness my dad makes

feeling blah earlier, but I have a goal now!

by LaffeyTaffey on 06-30-2012 at 02:05 PM
Earlier today, I found myself munching on some chips and queso dip while roaming through this amazing site and it hit me. What the heck am I doing sitting on my butt everyday before and after work when I have a Wii Fit Plus in the house?!*

So I turned it on, weighed myself (gained 3.5 pounds since 3 weeks ago. No surprise there), and looked at my history on my system. I started out weighing 293, went up to 299! Then back down to 288, etc. I'm disappointed with the fact that after
