You are such an inspiration. I hope I do as well as you did! I'm so happy for you!
  4. Thank you so much for the tips!! I have started just walking around my neighborhood usually about a mile at a time. I try and do 4 days a week but sometimes just get 2-3 days in depending on my work schedule. I will walk for about 30-45 mins normally one night and then the next night do like a 20-25 min "power walk" or "walking with a purpose". So far neither of these are too difficult which is suprising since before I started my exercise regimen consisted of walking to and from my car before and after work!! Again, thank you for your advice. I am learning so much on this site.

Wow you look soooo good!!! What is your workout regimen? Did you start working out before you surgery and what kind of workout did u do? I haven't had my sleeve yet and would love it if you shared? Thanks

Thanks for being such an inspiration! We are about the same height and our surgery day weights were the same. I'm 9 weeks out today and have lost 40 lbs, so I'm not complaining at all! I was curious if you track your food on my fitness pal? I have been exercising and strength training quite a bit, but my calories are usually always between 600-800 even when I exercise. Did you increase your calories on workout days. I'm concerned with decreasing my metabolism and making maintenance harder! Also, how much protien do you usually shoot for? I've been prety good at getting in between 60-80 grams. Wow, that's a lot of questions, but I really appreciate any advice you can send my way, I'm really trying to get close to goal before seeing my in-laws in mid July! Thanks again, and congrats on being such a success!
  7. I read on one of your posts that you were proactive about exercise. I was curious what exactly you meant by that? Did you start before surgery? And if so what kind of exercise did you do before and directly after surgery? I am curious because I would LOVE to have your result or anywhere close. Please give me some pointers!!
  8. Wow you look AMAZING!!!

I've been absent awhile but YES, I'm still alive :)

I feel kind of bad that I haven't posted in a while. It's amazing how much busier you are when you're not hiding behind your weight. I am currently 6 pounds under my goal weight, so I made it into the 120's at 129 lbs. Never expected that! I've lost more weight than what I currently weigh. That is just CRAZY to me. I've gone from a BMI of 42.0 to a BMI of 20.8, pant size of 22 to a size 2 (yes a TWO!) and 2x/3x shirts to a small. I went back to college full-time and just recently went back to work

Becoming more and more angry when I think about the last support group meeting I attended!

by aclabombard13 on 03-18-2013 at 06:53 PM
Can't stop thinking about my local support group meeting I attended last week. I go to these meetings regularly and there are a bunch of regulars. I always get such positive feedback from you wonderful people and I just want to be able to advocate for the sleeve and inspire others who are just starting the process. I've made wonderful friends through these meetings that makes the experience invaluable. However, at this last meeting a couple of regulars really turned me off. These are people who

Anyone have success with their insurance covering skin removal?

by aclabombard13 on 01-10-2013 at 05:47 PM
Since I am just about at goal, with a BMI of 21.9.... I am starting to think about getting my stomach skin removed and possibly a breast lift (slight reduction if necessary for coverage). I was wondering how many of you have had your insurance pay for either or both of these procedures? What did you have to do for the insurance to approve? How long did it take before you could have surgery? I have lost 124lbs in the last 9 months, I feel great with clothes on, but much less attractive with them
