Hi Everyone! Today is my 18 days post surgery and everything is going so good. Stomach cramping has stopped. Still have to get used to eating slower. The scale hasn't gone down much but, my clothes are looser and people at work say I already look like a different person. I'll for sure have to buy some new clothes week after next. Hope all is going well with everyone on this adventure!

Im doing fairly well, my main issue is the gas but all in all i can't complain. Glad everything is great with you, wishing you well.....

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all of the well wishes! Surgery went really well. and yes, there is lots of gas! haa! I had a bit of an issue with the anesthesia but, I always have an issue with that so, I was ready. Had lots of nausea and throwing up for almost one whole day. But, that went away. I've not had to take one pain killer since leaving the hospital. My stomach cramps up a bit though, after any little sip of anything so..I was told that, this is normal. It's getting a lot better. I had it a little worse just because of the nausea. If I hadn't had that, all would have been pain free like him. I have not one regret about this surgery! Haa! Anyway..about the hospital.

The hospital in Juarez, Mexico was awesome. Very clean and the room was private with a couch for my sister to sleep on. I only had to call for a nurse twice and that was only because my machine was beeping. Other than that, I never had to call them. And if you did ring the buzzer, they were to your room in less than two minutes! Really! I was very impressed with the hospital, staff and doctors. If you are thinking about going to Juarez, MX to have your surgery at Star Media then, do it. There was doctor, Dr. Calderon, who came everyday and would give me tips on after care and what to eat and what not to eat. They did my final xray to check for leaks and I go to see my stomach. It is TINI! Probably can only hold about 3 to 4 ounces of food. Boy I can't wait to start looking skinny!!! Haaa!!!

Tomorrow's the big day! I have you in my thoughts and prayers and I know you'll be fine! Get up and moving as much as you can after the surgery, it helps the gas move out of your system and that can be an issue. Plus drink lots of water or ice chips...you don't want to get dehydrated. Post and let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.

Thanks so much! I'm getting more nervous the closer it gets myself. I keep telling myself no fear, I'm not afraid to be healthy and happy.

Hi Gastric Family! So I started my 2 week pre-op diet, a week ago and I'm going really good. The only thing is, my breath is HUMMIMG!!! Which means it stinks like a old feet and socks! haaa!! I have to brush several times during the day and the freshness does not last! Any suggestions?

I just posted a reply to someone that my surgeon was Dr. Alvarez but, it's Dr. Rodriguez. Sorry to that person I posted a comment to. I've also heard good things about Dr. Rodriguez and I am so excited for him to do the surgery!!!
