Protein Drinks?

What are some protein drinks I can have for my liver shrinking diet? It starts in 2 weeks.

Protein drinks are trial and error. I cant stand any premixed ones but will drink the Syntrax power in smoothies. I would just buy a few of different brands to see how it goes. I wouldnt recommend stocking up on any one brand however because your taste buds change after surgery. I drank protein smoothies everyday prior to surgery for six months or so....after surgery, couldnt choke one down until 2 1/2 months out. Good luck with the search:-)

I just started my 14 day preop diet today. Let's see... I drank 2 Pure Protein (chocolate flavor) shakes mixed with water which didn't taste the greatest. I also had a Muscle Milk 100 calorie shake (vanilla), and then I had a EAS carb control (caramel latte) flavor. I also had broth, tomatoes, broccoli, sugar free jello, and crystal light and water. For me, the protein shakes for preop are supposed to be low sugar, low carbs. You have to be careful because some of the protein shakes out there have like 32 grams of carbs! I think the EAS shake I had had 2 net carbs, and the Pure Protein and Muscle Milk 100 calorie were extremely low as well. I can honestly say I don't feel hungry tonight, but I do have a massive headache which is probably from carb withdrawal. Good luck and keep us posted!

I am still a fan of the Unjury chocolate splendor power mixed with 8 oz of silk vanilla milk 60 calories for the milk (lactose free). I toss it into the vitamix with 1/2 cup of ice and it taste like a shake you buy at any fast food chain.

I'm so excited for you!!!! I'm starting to get anxiety pretty bad, I don't want to screw anything up. My surgery date is May 19th. I'm gonna try some of those drinks you suggested. Thanks!

One of my faves is to add a scoop of chocolate protein powder to a cup of hot coffee with a quarter teaspoon of nectresse and a tablespoon of soy milk. Tastes like a hot mocha cappuccino!

I think you want to try to stick to lower sugar content as well. I agree, please don't buy a bunch of any one kind. I would recommend the unjury sample pack.
