Tips For Returning Home From Mexico Safely

I had the gastric sleeve done in Tijuana Mexico on August 19th 2015 ( One Year Post Op yayaya) with Dr. Maytorena and LongTerm VSG.
I get asked a lot what are my tips for returning home safely after surgery. So here they are! (:

WLS Tips Returning home from Mexico Safely

1. Remember to always follow your Dr. Instructions.

2. If you feel something is wrong and your body doesn't feel right let your surgeon Know before leaving.

3. Take your Blood thinners before your flight!

4. Wear your compression socks on your fight & for a couple days after. ( Ask your surgeon how many they recommend!)

5. When you get to the airport ask for wheelchair assistance, you don't need to be running across the airport after your surgery!

6. STAY HYDRATED!! On your flight it's very important to stay hydrated!

7.Tell Your fight attendant you just had surgery, Yes it can be uncomfortable but it is there job to care for you. They will offer extra comfort on your way home.

8. Have short bursts of walking.

9. Don't forget to take your meds

10. If something is wrong ask for Help.
