That is a good healthy fear. Surgery is a big step. Don't take it till you have all your homework done and questions answered. I am an attorney and my motto is do the least intrusive thing first then escalate if that doesn't work. It is of little value to lose the weight if I gain it all back and more. I can eat everything. There are some things I used to love that I seldom eat (eggs, full fat premium ice cream) but I not found anything I can't eat. The real work starts after the healing. I lost and gained 100 pounds and 50 pounds many times but never could keep it off or go the extra mile to get beyond just being on a diet. WLS is serious, but so was my 385 pounds. Progress can seem slow, but you really only fail when you quit. /mike/
