It seems like a long time coming but I got my surgery date today. Nov. 12 will be the day and only a little over 2 weeks away. Doing the happy dance, I was afraid something would come up and prevent it from happening. But it feels like I am home safe on it now. I have one more meeting with the Nutritionist to explain the post op diet. Then on the 9th I will meet with the surgeon and the anesthetist. That day I will also have an Xray and an EKG but that should be no problem as they did an EKG in the stress test. I am so happy and excited to be finally getting this show on the road. Also in the last 4 weeks since I was at the doctor last I have lost another 10 lbs. Yeah me! The surgeon was very nice and took the time to explain the procedure again and answered every question I had. I really didn't have many questions because of all the information on this forum straight from the voices of experience. He did say that he uses a 34 french bouge (spelling?) That is the tube they put into the stomach during the surgery to determine the size of the sleeve. The surgeons assistant was explaining the recovery to me and was explaining what all the do to prevent blood clots. Heparin is given and they put the air pressure boots on your legs and the make you get up and walk shortly after the surgery. He said if you didn't want to get up Dr. Lorenzo would push you out of bed. HA HA I asked who was going to help him. Dr. Lorenzo is very petite man 4 foot something. VERY cute with a big smile. All in all a very good day!
