  1. My Life 3 Years Post Op

It's so hard to believe it's been 3 years! I'm at the point that I take for granted that my sleeve is going to always save me from myself - even though I am aware it truly is a tool and not the total salvation from fat that I thought it once was. I lost down to a size 12 and then went to a comfortable, happy 14. And have stayed there through no huge effort of my own. I no longer stress over my size. Very comfortable in my own skin!
I often forget that I have even had the sleeve done and ...
  2. Over a year post-op!

It's been over a year since my surgery and I hardly paused to celebrate! On the go and feeling great! I do not feel like feel like I have ever had gastric surgery other that being full really quick when eating :P I no longer live to eat. I didn't really get that concept before the surgery. It's nice not to have to worry and wonder what to eat. I am tempted often by high carb foods because they are quick and easy to get to. My cure for that is to make a large roast or buy a rotisserie chicken and ...
  3. Five Months & Fabulous!

It has been 5 months and I feel fabulous! There have been many stalls along the way. I have went from 216 to 160. That doesn't sound like a whole lot, but on my 5'3" body... it IS! The difference is from a size 20 to a 12.
During the stalls (there have been about 3), I kept reminding myself what my doctor said, "Throw your scales away! Keep up with your size through inches." Turns out he was a wise man Of course, I'm not going to throw away a perfectly good, expensive Weight ...
  4. My life thus far in the Sleevy Wonder club!

I haven't been on much since my surgery. I feel so great, that I've been going full speed! It's amazing the difference weight loss can make. Before my surgery, I simply couldn't imagine ever having energy or feeling good again. I had forgotten what that felt like. I didn't even attribute ALL of my lethargy to my weight. I had assumed I had gotten older and simply NEEDED that nap every day after work. Now, I may take a nap once a week, just for the pleasure of it... and usually it's a short one! ...
  5. Family Member Number 3 - To Be Sleeved! Yay!

My mother was banded about 5 1/2 years ago. She has no fill in her band and still can get nothing down into her stomach. She has had MRIs and other tests done. She is terrified of being overweight again. (worked so hard to achieve her current BMI) She refuses to have it removed. She is frequently dehydrated and we are watching her muscle slip away. She is the main reason my husband and I chose to have the VSG.
She has been over to visit twice since my surgery. Tonight she brought my Dad with ...
