Jeans!!! NSV!!!

Ok, so I still have a loooong way to go in terms of my weight loss, but the clothes that I have from before surgery are literally falling off me. It's a little frustrating when I know I am losing weight, but because my clothes are so big, it's not as noticeable as I'd like it to be. My smallest pair of jeans is a size 24 (which were TIGHT before surgery), and I'm thinking that I probably need a 22 or maybe even a 20 by now. Yet, I don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes when I hope that anything I buy now will also be too big in a short time.

So, today I remembered that I had a $25 gift card to Macy's that I got for my birthday in March, and I thought maybe I could pick up an inexpensive pair of jeans, and with the gift card I'd only have to pay a little bit. I went into the store and asked a girl working there where the "women's" department was (guys, "women's" department is usually code for the "plus-size" department .) So, the girl tells me, "right over there", and it takes me a few minutes to realize that there are no plus-size clothes around (the skinny little thing probably didn't know the "code"). While I'm there, I see a sale rack of jeans, and among the size 6's and 10's is a size 18. I decide to try it on just to see how far I have to go until I can get into this size (last time I wore an 18 was about 10 years ago) and THEY FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm wearing them right now as I type this. Sure, it's 93 degrees out and I'd probably be more comfortable in shorts, but I am wearing these mf'ers all day and night!!!!!!!

OMG!!! I am so happy for you! Size 18!!! WoooHooo!!
I can totally relate -- my jeans and capris and pants are all size 22. My beloved jeans fell down to my ankles the other day. Some capris are just too big, others are just becoming wearable. Why is there so much variance in sizes? Crazy making conspiracy of the fashion industry.
BUT, size 18 JEANS? That is something to shout to the roof!!

Whoo Hooo!!!! I know all about shopping smaller. You may want to try thrift stores b/c you are gonna fly through clothing maybe only wearing things a couple of times before they are too big. Congrats on the new clothes.

You go girl!!! Congratulations. I know at my wls center they have a clothing room where you can't pick out clothes then return after you lose, (clean of course). Then also I've got friends that tell me to go too Goodwill. They have 99c days or something like that Worth looking at since you will be changing sizes quite often!! Congrats again. Blessings <><

Thanks everybody! And thrift stores are a great idea...there's a Clothes Mentor near me that I plan to go to soon. They pay you money for your gently used clothes and you can buy gently used things there too. My WLS place doesn't have a clothes closet sort of thing like evbag described, but I should mention it to them to start one! I work there sometimes doing psych evals, so maybe I can get it started!
