So get this: I was booked with Dr. Kelly for 1/18 and today I got a call from his coordinator, Sandy, telling me that she didn't feel comfortable booking me with him anymore and offered to give me my deposit back. I thought something was fishy-so I agreed to take the deposit back, but after re-thinking my decision - I'm thinking there may be something wrong with the coordinator and not Dr. Ramos-Kelly. What's up with her.? I'm going to rebook thru Trish and continue my original plan of 1/18. What do you guys think? I'm wondering whether something was going on between the two of them, she got dumped, and now she's pissed. If she made her living off him by booking people, and he did something unethical, wouldn't she be defending him and trying to make light of it instead of telling us not to book with him? What's up with that? Comments? Suggestions?

I've heard that Kelly has an A++++ rating so I bet it's her. I also heard some tiff going on with Sandy saying Trish didn't work for Kelly anymore and she does. I am surprised she didn't try to book you with someone else. Good luck!

As a matter of fact, Sandy did try to book me with Dr. Garcia or Dr. Zapata. Why would she do that? I can't understand why she gave me my money back. Don't they work on commission?

Weird, that's for sure. Did you call Trish? We are using Garcia and I've heard really good things about both he and Kelly. I understand Trish lives there and she comes to meet and see you there in TJ. I just think Sandy doesn't work for Kelly anymore, why else would she do that?

I also went with her at the begining and she left me hanging, had my date for surgery, got my plane tickets, sent in my medical records, then NOTHING! she never called me back, never answered my calls or emails. So I contacted Dr. kellys office personally and was welcomed warmly. I sent my deposit to Trish, she met me at the airport and had my surgery, and I am so happy that I did that, she was awsome! she did everything to make me comfortable and did not talk bad about any one. while at the hotel a call came in to me from this Sandy, and another lady and man, harrasing me! I told Dr Kelly about it. It was very poor practice from this group. I was upset by it all. I wrote a letter also to Dr. Kelly and to this Sandy lady. When I returned home I got a phone call from her group asking how I arrainged my surgery, I told her that it wasn't any of her business, and that I waited 2 wks for a return call from her group, I had plane tickets and I wasn't able to get a refund, so I scheduled my own surgery. She wasn't very nice and I hung up.
Its a business, she and her group are out to make the money, Medical Tourism is against the law in the USA. but if you go on any site to check out a dr. you see ads for them, this is how they make their money. Dr. Kelly was aware of this and said he was going to take care of it. He works with them, and Trish. And when I told Trish of this mess she didn't want to get involved, she never talked ill of them, but one thing I will tell you is that Trish is there for you. these other ladies, they are in the USA and once you pay, your on your own anyway. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Kelly and Trish, you can use me as a reference if you want to, Trish will work with you, and she will do whatever needs to be done for you. Even shopping, using her phone to call home, driving you to the store. Dr. Kelly he is a very personable man, he came to the hotel and sat and talked for hours before my surgery, cause I was so nervious and was almost going to cancel. mainly because of the stress from Sandy and her group. after surgery he came to the hospital and hotel each night to visit. and stayed and talked for hours. He has a wonderful bedside manner that I have never seen with any dr. I was 100 percent happy with everything. I have also refered many people to him for surgery. I have two friends here in my town that are planning to go to him for surgery in Feb. and wanted me to go with them as well as support. if I didn't have to work I would jump on the plane with them and go! good luck with your decission, just do your research!

I don't know who told you that your stomach will burst. You will eat, and you will know when you are full. I have never had a problem with this, you won't want to eat much at the begining, and when you do start to eat, you can eat all the things that you did before surgery but just a smaller amount. Honey go with what you have scheduled, you will be so amazed and happy for doing this. everyone is scared of the un-known, but trust me in a few months you will be on this forum giving advice after your experience! I teach nutrition education, I do excersize, and guess what I was fat!!! how can I teach nutrition to people when I myself are overweight? I had a lot of medical issues, and that is part of the reason I was overweight. Now, I feel great, look great, have more self confidence that I never had before, people recognize the difference in me. and say I look great for 59! I just wish I did it much sooner! you will be nervous but once its all said and done, you will be fine. look at all the people on this forum that have had surgery, everyone of them look wonderful!!! it puts years on your life and they are good ones! good luck to you and know that your stomach will not burst!!

I have heard that Dr Kelly had a problem in Dec 2011 and that is why they may be a little hesitant in scheduling with him. I would definitely call and see if the coordinator that you have been working with can give you any further information. I went with Dr Garcia and am very pleased. I have spoken to others who went with Dr Kelly and also Dr Almanza and were also very happy.
