Hi Im new....For the first time since being sleeved (oct 11th 2011) Roughly almost 3 months..I woke up hungry this morning. Is this normal? I Noticed last night that i was able to eat an entire lean pocket....Before then i could barely get half down. Im a little concerned...I immediately thought "oh no....My pouch is expanding" How long were you into your post op before you realized you had a little more room to work with? Something i should be worried about?

it is normal. some days you will be able to do it while other days you wont get half in. Your stomach may have fully emptied itself to allow for the whole lean pocket. From what I have read its only 3-4 oz per one pocket and that is what you should be able to eat over a 30 minute or more period of time. Just listen to your body and stop when you feel full to avoid over eating. Eat half of it and wait 10 minutes before eating the other half or more of it period to make sure your brain and stomach are getting the same message that your eating and full. Your 3 months out so maybe the last of your swelling is gone or your body just needed the extra calories and nutrients.

ever since I started the full liquid diet im hungry but it doesnt take much to satisfy me.

I had the sleeve surgery on 10/06/2011 and I am sometimes able to eat a lean pocket, but not all the time. I am noticing that there are times I can eat more and sometimes that I still can't eat much. Sometimes it depends on the food, time of day, etc. Just stop when you feel full, stay eating the right things. My stomach still stops me even the times I can eat a little more. Remember it's a tool, we still have to make the right choices as to what to eat.
