Lightbulb 11 months and AT GOAL!

I have officially met my goal of losing 130 pounds. I was sleeved with Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras, Mexico on January 24th this year. It seems insane to me that in less than one year's time I would be at my goal weight. I find myself wondering now though, what's going to stop me losing more? I always said "I really don't expect to even make it to my goal weight, I really don't expect to have to worry about losing TOO much weight." well, here I am. I mean if I got down to 140, it wouldn't be a disaster, but I wouldn't want to lose more than that. I am 5ft 6in tall with a medium/large frame. Any suggestions? Keep in mind that while I do still always eat my protein first, I eat what I want. Including candy, butter, sour cream, bacon, potatoes and occasionally pasta! Any comments would be appreciated!
    Xoxoxoxo,
    Lisa

I was worried about this before surgery since I didnt have as much to lose as others and ddnt look as much as I weighted. My goal is 145 but have my "ideal" weight on my tracker. I believe if I get down to 125, what the dr said I would most likey get to in less then a year, I will be way to small and look sick. I asked if I got to 145 and didn't want to lose anymore weight what do I do, he said to up the cals/carbs/sugars...the things we don't want while tring to lose. He said he has never had anyone lose to must with the sleeve, unlike the bypass.

So inspiring!!! No suggestions except for maybe eating more lol, but I do have a question. Everyone on here has different docs, who all reccommend different restrictions to maximize success. And it causes some of us to get a little preachy and/or confused. For someone like you who is actually at her goal, what restrictions do you still follow? Which ones did you drop along the way and when? And what impact do you think it had on your success?

Well, the one thing I do to keep myself in check is I periodically measure my food just to make sure I'm still eating 1/2 cup of food at meals. Surprisingly, my stomach still stops me at about that point anyway. But the periodic measuring lets me know I haven't lost my ability to gauge how much food I'm eating. I do eat my protein first, so there isn't much room for other things and I try to keep my protein high. But I do eat what I want. For me, it seems that the quantity is what matters most. Also, I do NOT drink my calories (with the exception of a bit of wine now and then). I don't drink soda either. I'm worried about the effects of the carbonation irritating the lining of my stomach as well as the bloating/stretching possibility. I also have to make sure my calories aren't too restricted; when they are, the scale stops moving. I have to eat MORE to keep losing. Very strange, that phenomenon.
Overall, I do try to eat healthy and stay away from fried things (they don't make me feel very good anyway), drink plenty of liquids, get plenty of protein (always eat it first) and only moderate exercise. Actually, when I was very active on my bicycle this summer, my weight loss stalled. I was doing 20-30 mile rides and burning a TON of calories, and I think my body straight freaked out. When I had an injury to my knee, and couldn't ride the weight started pouring off again.
These are a few of the things I have discovered works for me. Thank you for your question, and best of luck to you on your journey!

Wow Lisa, thank you so much for posting this. Apart from looking absolutely gorgeous, you are radiant! I am not yet sleeved, but hope to be this year, and you have provided inspiration for this 40 year old, but a happiness to see other people so successful. Well done and congratulations!

I really want this to happen to me. I am planning to eat protein first, just like my dietitian told me to do. I am wondering Lisa, are you in your 20's. You look great. I am in my 50's and lost most of my youth to fat and wanting to get my life back. Also, do you have any before pics. I love this site to keep us motivated. Happy goal!!!!

    Lisa,

That is amazing. Congratulations!! I am at the start of my journey and only 11 days post op and on liquids for the next 2 weeks.

Your experience is inspirational and makes me even more determined to embrace the coming changes. It just seems like a long road at the beginning.

Again, excellent and well done you!

Hello Lisa you look Awesome! I recently had a knee injury myself and the pain is UNBEARABLE! I was off work 6 weeks with mine. If you don't mine me asking, what brought about your knee injury? I am wondering if mine could be associated with my surgery

My injury was due to a bicycle ride I did that was 30 miles and very windy...I was pushing too hard and strained the back side of my knee. That was last fall. I have since recovered from that, and adjusted the height of my seat (I think it was too high). Feeling great now, have surpassed my goal by 6 pounds and am feeling great!

Congrats! I am in the same boat as you. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think you would have to worry about being "to" thin? My original goal was 170#'s. I am at 156 and I don't need to lose anymore. I am 5'7", medium/large frame and 52. Skin just doesn't bounce back like it did 25 years ago!!! I love my sleeve!
