Default I don't think of eating ! I have to force myself !

I had the surgery 5 weeks ago and if I didn't have to prepare meals for my kids I woudn't even think of eating. I always have something to drink with me and that's it !
I can't finish a croissant, I have 3 bites of pasta and I'm full ! I eat only babys yogurt (baby size).
How long is this going to be ?
    In 5 weeks, I lost 12 kgs.

Nobody told me about Protein or vitamines to be taken !!! can you help me.

    regards.

I take 1 woman's vitamin with iron, 2 calcium, 1 in the morning, one in the evening. And 1 B-12 a day. I am now 2 months post-op. Before I was taking 2 children's a day but my doctor told me to switch to the adults 2 months post-op. When you have surgery they give you liquid vitamins in your IV's.
This cover's you until you heal but when you heal you need to start taking them. Some people say 2-7 months post-op your hair comes out in the hair brush. I lose a lot of hair now that's why I started taking adult vitamins and if you fall and you're over 40 or 50 it's easy to break bones. Vitamins can prevent this. That's why I take them. Lorna

    Protein is most important.
    Vitamins aren't going to hurt.
I added Biotin for hair loss.
Check with your Doctor for amounts.

Don't wait for hunger. Plan your meals
the day before. Weigh and measure everything.
    You will do great.

I agree Mike - Protein is extremely important. My doctor has me on 80 grams a day with 64 oz of water and all the vitamins listed above. That is so I don't have any deficiencies due to the reduced amount of food I am taking in during the first 90 days.

    My vitamins consist of:
2 chewable adult multivitamins a day, with iron (in the middle of the day)
1 chewable vitamin C (aids in the absorption of iron)
    1 sublingual B12 (2500 mcg)
1 (1,000mcg) biotin and 1 silica (35mg) after lunch and after dinner to help prevent hair loss
2 Vitamin D's at bedtime (1000 IUs) (Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium)
2 Tums extra strength (750 mg) (for Calcium) at bedtime (Don't take calcium with vitamin C, because C blocks absorption of calcium)

Counting the nutrients every day: 80 gms protein, less than 60 gms of carbs, 40-50 grams of fat, and under 1,000 calories. That's my weight loss nutrition plan.

All recommended/approved by my dietitian who works at the Bariatric Center of Excellence where I go.
