Anyone having surgery in Mexico in January 2012 w/ Dr. Almanza

I am having surgery in TJ, Mexico on January 11, 2012 with Dr. Almanza. I was wondering if anyone else would be going at this same time?

My wife and I will be there on the 14th. You'll be leaving about the time we get there, I'll try not to take it personally :-)

I just had surgery on 12/7. Dr. Almanza and his staff are wonderful. Very top notch. I knew nobody else going at that time, and met some wonderful people. Good luck to you.

I wish everyone the best of luck but I switched from Almanza to Garcia. I have the people on Obesity Help to thank for that.

I've spent a lot of time learning enough to be comfortable with Almanza, I know nothing of this Dr Garcia. Can I ask why you switched to him? Is there some tangible benefit to him over Almanza?

(please don't think I'm saying anything negative about your choice, more a case of if there's a "better" option for me, I want to know about it)

I searched and asked for as much info I could on this forum and OH and never received any bad info on Almanza. I did my own research, found nothing bad, booked him and was ready to go. I asked on OH if anyone was having surgery around my time, as I was looking for buddies and all this negative backlash was presented. I felt bad because the way ppl talk to you they dont understand we are all here to help one another not criticize. One lady just said it nicely check this post out and from what I read made me switch to Garcia. I have already been hearing a lot of great things about Garcia which is a colleague of Dr. Kelly and went with him. Luckily I was able to get the same date as they were able to work with me because I told the coordinator I already had plane tix booked and a hotel.
