Sounds like you either need liposuction or a thigh lift or both, they don't come in Brazilian That's one of the hardest surgeries to recover from b/c the area needs to be kept dry and there's natural moisture endemic to the area and it's really, really hard not to move your legs, even when you're in bed, let alone when you go to the bathroom. Let us know if Dr. Lara does it for you...it would be good to know.

I went to a support group yesterday for people in my health plan; apparently some folks have gone to Mexico, I'll try to find out what Drs they used and what procedures they had; it was just mentioned yesterday.

Sadly, the only thing that will solve those problems are thigh lifts, not lipo alone. If you lipo the area it will remove the fat but leave saggy skin behind so you may be even flabbier than before. A thigh lift combines lipo + surgery to pull up the saggy skin. Ask Dr. Lara, I'm sure he can help explain it in more detail.

You could, but it would really be better for you to send them to a Dr. for evaluation. Since Dr. Lara is the one you used I'd suggest him.If he isn't helpful I know other docs you can send them to in Mexico for an explanation and a quote.

I posted a reply to the comment about a thigh lift... but it disappeared! if it shows up later, sorry for the double.

Anyway, my big issue is my inner thighs. Looking at my profile in front of the mirror, that is my worst area. I have hanging skin there, but the worst is the fat pockets have pushed forward so they kinda stick out. You can see it even through clothes and I guess that is what really bothers me. I have also heard that inner thigh cosmetic surgery is painful and hard to heal and perhaps doesn't have the same amazing results as some other areas.

Good news is my tummy is shrinking up really well so far. Time will tell how bad it will be but i don't think I will need a "panny" based on progress so far.

I just heard from Dr. Lara's coordinator - they charge $3500 for a thigh lift. Like you said, I've heard it's an operation that's hard to heal. All the best in your decision.

SMILE!! It makes people wonder what you're up to!

we had a plastic surgeon come and talk to our WLS support group last week.
She stated that it was very hard to have a breast procedure and tummy tuck at the same time.
Her reason is that with a boob job they want you to be upright for weeks after as they shift everything up.
For a tummy tuck, they pull down the skin from under your boobs.
Basically, it will be a sinful recovery trying to follow the directions for both procedures post op...
Just food for thought...I am sure a local surgeon would give a free consult so you could get a second opinion.

Hey Tulip: there's a site called "realself.com" which has lots of info. A question was posed about doing arms and tummy in the same surgery and almost all the docs said it wouldn't be wise because if you're tummy's cut, then you need your arms to help get up and down and vice versa. I would do anything regarding my tummy until I get my arms finished and healed..at least 3 months in between. I've had 3 csections so know this first hand and I'm an occupational therapist helping people do transfers.

I was thinking about order of surgeries and I think I will have the body lift/or tummy tuck and boobs first. Then several months later, my arms. That way my arms don't get strained the first year trying to hoist myself after a tummy tuck. I'm a little leary about the arm scars so I'm losing as much weight as possible to see how they will turn out on their own...I'm already seeing major weird wrinkling.
