Good morning! I'm having a bit of a hard time putting a picture up as my profile picture...help?

there are 2 types of pics that you can use: Profile and Avator. The one that shows up in your posts is the avator.

To change either one, go to the CONTROL PANEL link at the top of this page.

Once one the control panel page, scroll down to the My Settings section at the bottom of the page. 1212011_12407 PM.jpg
Under My Settings you will see links for both options. The rest is simple browse to the photo you want to use and select it.

I'm using a iPad do I need to use my laptop to post pics?

Yes you will need to use a laptop or desktop, the iPad does not let you use the Browse for pictures tool, on our site or on any site for that matter. We will make a note to try to detect that and clarify that to iPad users, good point.

I just joined & have done all the above steps & it keeps saying file upload failed & i have tried uploading a pic from my laptop several times. Any Suggestions?

Looks like you got your avatar uploaded. Did you mean your avatar that appears with your posts, or did you mean the actual profile picture that appears on your profile page?

The iPad's native web browser, Safari, cannot upload files to a web site. To do this you need to use a third party browser. There are some available in the app store.
