That is totally me! I have had insomnia for 20+ years and nothing helped me get to sleep. Now I go to bed around 10:30 and I wake up refreshed. I have been going into work an hour early and my coworkers are so excited that I am awake and perky when I arrive to work. My day is so much more productive.

My NSV is that I've finally been wearing high heels again! I have always loved fashionable clothes, and been a 'shoe-whore' (I blame that on working in a shoe store from Gr 10 through my first few years of university)....But the larger I have become those heels just freaking hurt...Now as I've lost weight they feel good again. Today I wore 3 1/2 inch pointy toed high heeled boots & I felt stylin' in them...Best of all they were paired with my size 18 jeans instead of the 22/24's I was wearing pre-op Oh, and I drove down to the States and did my first Black Friday Shopping ever this weekend. Let me tell you - I had stamina and my friend and I did some major retail therapy! I joked that someone needed to call ahead and distract the border guards because Thelma and Louise (aka me and my friend) made out like bandits. We did Thursday night through Saturday night with about 4 hrs sleep each night and full on shopping the rest of the time. I wouldn't have had that kinda' energy before VSG.

I could name this outfit, that outfit or this chair, that seat belt. or I got this comment or so on but I spent a few minutes thinking about this trying to decide and I realized that I, miss withdrawn hermit, have grown very fond of the wonderful people on this board and it grows every day. I have a lot in common with so many of you and your openness and the fact that I cant interrupt anybody on here (meaning I can get a word in edgewise) has given me a freedom that is starting to show in my non cyber life. the weight loss and the practice on here has really helped.

Same here we have Theater Seats in Church. Behind each section there is a pew for Larger folks. I have alwAys sat in the seats but Yesterday I noticed people were not skipping a seat. They actually sat next to me. Both services...usually they skip a seat and there is a seat in-between us. I also notice that I am not uncomfortable during service. I'm usually sore and unable to stand each time Time pastor ask . I was comfortable and up and down all service. One drawback, I no longer have my bible shelf (my stomach) so I have to hold it now LOL!

Keeping my mind busy here tonight... and have an NSV to report.

I packed quickly to come to my MIL's house, and grabbed an extra robe hanging in the closet in my guest room that I can just leave here.
Just went to put it on and realized it is a "one size fits most" $10 special from the pharmacy.
I was a little down about not having a robe that fits, but for the heck of it I tried it on and the damned thing fits!
I am wearing a one size fits all piece of clothing!
So, I got brave and pulled out mom's snuggie, which I tried on last year and couldn't get up my arms.. and it fits too! (not that I'm likely to wear it since I have the robe, but it's just cool)....

On the food front, the neighborhood church dropped Mom off a care package for Christmas and on the bottom was a bag of Hershey's kisses... uh-oh.... I can walk by them in the store but in the house? Not so easy... I succumbed... but I had two and was done. The rest stayed in the pkg and went home with my hubby when he stopped by today to see his Mom.

We just have to celebrate the little things, especially this time of year when there are so many foods that trigger happy memories and we have to remember the the holidays are more about the folks than the food!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled posts....

Hey, now that Christmas is over and new years is approaching, I'm looking for some new NSVs to give us all some of the get up and go that may have got up and left during the holiday season...
    I have two -
I had to be at a formal gathering yesterday, the kind where you wear a suit, and mine was just so huge on me it was unfixable..so I dug around in the "good clothes" closet and found a brand new size 20 navy blue wrap dress, held my breath, tried it on and it fit just fine
And, I have discovered that I have collar bones! They aren't sticking out or anything icky, but before when I'd reach up to adjust a necklace they weren't really "there" and now they sure are ...makes me wonder if I maybe have ribs, too....

C'mon folks, I know we may be feeling down a bit if we ate wrong during holiday season but it's almost over and we need to look forward.
Tell me something good! (with apologies to Chaka Kahn)

My most recent NSV is I went into my closet to get a belt to help hold up my pants & it was to big. When I got the belt this spring it just fit using the first hole.

The last several years as my weight skyrocketed and also as I dealt with thyroid issues and thyroid cancer I felt every effort drain me. I would try to keep the clutter and chaos and mess that comes with kids at bay while at my in-laws (who have a spotless, maid-serviced house) and I never quite enjoyed the holidays. I brought a tradition into the family that the youngest married couple cleans up after the family meal. Since Mike and I were the newly married we were in charge of clean-up. I always felt exhausted after doing this...until this year.

This year I cleaned up by myself (my choice) and felt great. This was the first time I really noticed that I could DO so much more without feeling wiped out. I finished earlier and then got to sit down and enjoy the football games and play Skip-bo and LCR.

It is these small victories that mean so much to me!
That's awesome, Wendy!!!! Funny you said you played LCR - I played LCR for the first time with my family over the holidays! So much fun!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I wear a uniform at work, pretty non-descript. At our company Christmas party last week, I was wearing some really nice fitting jeans and a tight top...I looked good! My boss told me he didn't know it was me at first...he did a double and then a triple take! And everyone there was congratulating me on my figure. And I am only half way to goal! I wonder how they will react when I reach goal!?

My latest NSV is that I can now wear size 14 skirts and jeans. I haven't worn this size since I was 14 I went shopping the day before yesterday and found myself in a weird position. My usual shop Evans (outsize British shop) only had 3 things in the sale that fitted me. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad.

I gave away 3 bags of 2x, 20's, and 18's!!!!! I have NEVER given my big clothes away before! (Always KNEW the weight would be back :-( ) How liberating that felt!!!! I also squeezed on a pair of 14's...they zipped but there's no way I could wear them comfortably, but that's what I said about my size 18's 2 months ago! Now I comfortably wear a 16! YAYYYYYYYY!
