Hi Minches,
Congratulations! I had the surgery just last week, and I wish I could report a similar weight loss, but I am afraid that the surgery did not make me lose that much weight! I am hoping to lose more as I enter the second week. But honestly, I am deathly afraid to step onto that scale and be disappointed!
Alynnea, congrats on your surgery! Looking forward to hearing more about how it progresses from here forward for you. Whatever it is, don't be so disappointed when you first step on the scale. The big results you already know will take some time. Everyone is different and your body is still getting used to its changes now after the surgery. Hang in there and keep us in the loop.
And Minches, congrats on the 13 lbs in 2 weeks post op, not to mention the 22 overall. Bravo! You go girl, lol.
Hi, welcome aboard to the site, and thank you for taking the time to join.
Well, its nice to hear about your surgery that you took the leap of faith. So you thought you would lose more being 3 weeks out, makes sense from the stories I've read about with others' experiences. What has your doctor attributed your level of weight loss to? What did they say?
By the way we have a section on our site here where you can post a "journey" thread, they are great for other people to read about, its a central place where newbies can come to read real life stories of people who went through what they want to go through (and of course its not just for newbies to come and learn..).
I think it would be great if you would do a journey thread so you can have one thread that you constantly update whenever you feel like posting an update. And this way we can follow along and be there with you and relate as the months go by.
This is the link to create a journey thread:

Anyway, wish you the best and thanks for getting your feet wet and jumping in the forums. Hope you enjoy the site and please make yourself at home.
Hi Minches, you must be feeling really pleased with that start!
Alynnea, give your body time to adjust. We are all not the same. I really have difficulties losing due to polycystic ovaries and so I am not expected miracles. I have been on optifast for two weeks and am only down 2 kg! So we are not all wonder losers! But those folks really are my inspiration.
Gal x
