I have put the idea of having and not having gastric sleeve surgery. but my body has started to make a firm decision' YES I want it. but now that I'll be 68 in a couple of days, is it too late? I have had diabetes for 20 years, HBP, and have developed venous stasis on the bottom of my leg and the other one is becoming the same. My family is not all for it and that's why I keep putting it off. Since it's been a while since I last mentioned it to them, I believe they have forgotten about it but I haven't. This time I'm telling only my husband. I haven't got my first appointment yet, but it will be soon. at 225 lbs with all comorbidities I've been approved already once before. I just can't wait. I just had a a granddaughter and want us to grow together. Please keep me in your prayers. THANKS

I had the sleeve three years ago at the age of 67 and it was absolutely the BEST decision I ever made in my life! I've had ups and downs with Covid, losing my husband on our 41 wedding anniversary, back surgery, etc - but never gained more than 19 pounds over my goal weight. I'm now 6 pounds up and back at WW. Like many others have said, the sleeve is a tool, not a magic bullet. You won't be able to eat as much at one sitting, but you can still consume A LOT of high-calorie foods during the day. So, you still need to eat healthy and try to exercise.
I hope you moved forward with the surgery and are on your way to a happy, healthy life!
