Hi everyone, Im Lauren, 31 from the South of England and I am due to have my Gastric Sleeve on the 13th of July. I am so nervous and unsure of what to expect afterwards. Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks x
Good morning Lauren!
I am new here also. I have my surgery on July 20th. I am so nervous and excited. I started a journal a few days ago. And everyday I read about surgery, things to do before and after. Have you taken pictures and did you write down all your measurements yet? My daughter helped me with that. How is your high protien/low carb/no sugar going?
HI Lauren, I am from the north of England. I had my surgery just over 3 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did and just wish I had done it earlier. Make sure you drink. Take it easy and start walking as soon as you can. I dont know what your programme is like, but i had to be on liquids for a full month afterwards.I made chicken broth soup and had that. When i was allowed slightly thicker soup, i used to make tomato soup and add Quark to it, as its high in protein and gives the soup added flavour and thickness. Good luck with your journey.
Hello
Hi Lauren,
I just had surgery six days ago... it is all very fresh in my mind.
If you do the following things, do not panic:
1. experience gas pains (get up and walk as much as you can. Burp, fart... walk)
2. Throw up a little bile and blood... your tummy is gonna be pissed
3. Feel nauseous as all Hell.
by the third day I had none of these issues.
Good luck and take gas ex!
Hi Lauren! Welcome to the coimmunity. Wishing you well and looking forward to seeing you around.
