    Default Back after 8 years

    Hi everyone,

I'm returning to the forums after a several year gap (enough that my account wasn't recognized lol). I had my sleeve 8 years ago and it was the best thing I could have done. In the past year however, I've had a slip backwards. I can blame covid, and I can blame the fact that some of my psych meds changed (Yes, I'm a success story that you can be crazy and have a vsg!!!) but the fact is I became a couch potato that stopped putting water and protein first.

SO... to put a stop to that I'm going back to basics, and that includes the support I always enjoyed receiving and giving here. Although I've gained recently I'm still happy to say that after 8 years I've got 125 pounds permanently off, and about 50 - 70 to take off now. I know it's not going to be easy, and that I'm going to have to get moving in addition to my water and protein in addition to support.

My situation is very different than it used to be - I don't have nearly the income I used to and so I don't have the kind of funds I used to spend on protein shakes and isopure drinks each month. I need to learn to prioritize again to make the important things truly important.

    Have a great day everyone!!!

    Hi and welcome back :-)

It's easy to become complacent for many reasons but the good thing is that we all know what we have to do to get back on the bus.
You've done it before and you can do it again. Exercise (in whatever form) is essential to our continued success as well as the old protein first and sip water all the time business. You know the drill.

I wish you all the best and I hope to see you back on here regularly telling us how you are getting on.

    Hi fella,

I’m in a similar situation, but coming up on 4 years post op.

I could blame the pandemic but a look in the mirror is what I needed (while trying on my suits that now don’t fit!).

I want to shift (need to shift) 28lbs.

Things that have not helped...beer, beer, wine, junk food like pizza and crisps (chips for you yanks!).

Time to get back on the horse and refocus.

    Best wishes to you.

Welcome back--I was sleeved 2-8-13, so this board is not nearly as active as it used to be. I have 20 pounds to lose and am back on track! It's not easy,
but once you get your momentum going, there will be no stopping you!
