    Default Clothes again

You old timers here know all about Meg and our situation, so you'll know what I'm talking about here. After nearly 5 years of being in an apartment with her, we're FINALLY coming home! We've emptied out our garage, hired contractors, and in less than two weeks she will be moving into her very own disabled friendly apartment at our house. I'm excited and very very nervous.

Anyway my house has been my house since I was born, so there was LOTS of stuff to clean out since I save everything That's how I came across the reason for this post... my clothes from the 80's, middle school! Guess jeans! They fit. Barely. But I got them on. Here's the thing - they're size 29. The jeans I have on my body right now are size 26. Look at the pic for comparison. Why?! Why do they do this?

HI Katrina, i wish you all the best with your daughter coming home....as for the jeans, well done fitting into them, but yes clothing has definitely got bigger. It is to make us feel good in smaller sizes. When I lost all my weight I had kept a pair of jeans also from school days and although they were a South African 10/ UK 10 they were definitely smaller than my new present days jeans. I also have some skirts that are the same size but are much tighter than the new ones. Its away of telling society that we have got bigger over the years. Stay safe .

    Hi Katrina

How exciting that you will all be going home. That will be wonderful for you all.

I agree with Elllie re the sizes. We have all got bigger and manufacturers have increased the size of the clothes but kept them the same "size" to make us feel better.

The pattern has changed, this is normal. The size range often changes, if that's what you mean

Really happy for you finally moving! Speaking of jeans, Samto Sam is right, patterns are changing and that's probably normal
