    Default Newbie

I am 45 years old and 300 plus lbs. I had 4 c sections a tubal and a complete hysterectomy by the time i was 25 years old and my body is a nightmare. i just signed up hoping i can have a gastric sleeve in november cause i watched my best friend have one given to her and she did great and decided to throw it all away by eating horribly and gaining her weight back ....im so envious and so frustrated with her but shes not so far gone she couldnt get it all back i wish she would cause i have been wanting this for so long i have tried every diet under the sun and no sucess. Now my knees have given out on me and i need this weight gone and i have lost from 353 to 312 but cant seem to go further. looking for advice and other peoples stories and journeys .....

Your friend CHOSE to gain her weight back. If you want it bad enough it works. If you eat how you are taught and exercise it works. I've been a normal sized person for over 6 years now. No way will I EVER go back to being fat and miserable.

It is 100% worth it if you're 100% willing to put the work in. The surgery is a tool, not a fix. So far it is working well for me. But it takes a lot of mental strength. Maybe after you get yours, your friend will find inspiration to get back on track. It helps me to be completely open about the surgery, and educate those who are curious. And I've learned so much from my doctors and nutritionist, now some of my friends are just living healthier and losing weight without the surgery. Good luck!

The sleeve is a tool, it is not the miracle, you still have to do the work. The need to not have to worry about losing weight never leaves you, because you still have to be conscious of what you're eating, staying active and being healthy. If your mind is not in the game, it will not work. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I know of people who have had the sleeve and other weight loss surgeries and have gained all of their weight back. You still have to remain mindful. You still have to do the work!

As all above, it's not a miracle on it's own but with some hard work by you it can certainly seem like one.
It's the best thing that I have ever done. I'm 3 years out and the happiest (and healthiest) that I have ever been.
You have to have the right mindset and once you have that you will be away and onto your new life.
    Good luck!
