Default 7 years on the 7th!

Surgery anniversary week! Lost all my weight and kept it off. Gave myself a whole new life, best gift ever. I'm at the point now where I barely remember being fat.

    How did I do it?

    1. Positive attitude all the way. It was so much fun seeing the pounds drop off.

    2. No excuses. Let's see, during these 7 years I broke my neck, discovered I have a brain tumor, lost my mom, moved across the country, and am now recovering from shoulder surgery. (WAY worse than sleeve surgery that's for sure). Not to mention quarantine. So life will come up, don't use it as an excuse to gain back weight. Eating junk won't change anything.

    3. Weigh myself daily so if I'm a little up I get more careful about what goes in my mouth.

    4. Exercise. Even after shoulder surgery I'm encouraged to walk on a flat surface (incline OK) so I'm out everyday. Hoping to be cleared for skiing and snowshoeing by January. I do miss trail hiking and mountain climbing, but I can wait. Biggest accomplishment as a regular sized person was summitting Kilimanjaro August 2019. And as my mom would have told you, I'm no spring chicken.

The sleeve surgery is an opportunity, not a guarantee. But it can be done without that much work. I still get excited looking at the size in my clothes, considering the tag used to say something like 22.

    You can do it too!

What's going on on this site? Most of the regulars are gone. Somehow new people (trolls?) are searching super old posts and commenting on a huge amount of them.

I agree the trolls are very boring.
I think maybe most of the regulars have either decided that they no longer need/want to be a part of this group or that there are other things going on in their lives that are all consuming. I still need you all - and I'm still here :-)

It seems so strange that so many years long regulars all left in a big bunch. I always wonder what happened to everyone.

I don't find any your posts a waste of time! I spend a lot of time reading back through the experiences everyone has had. I just had my surgery and am trying to figure it all out. Drinking enough, eating without horrible GERD, the roller coaster of feelings, so all of the posts help me! I admire you for using this tool and maintaining your healthy weight daily!

I hear you Sharon & Lisa -- we've been in touch out in the "real" world.
Not sure what changed her, but it surely has.
