OK. Definitely a GS 1st world issue but I'm grounded as I await my COVID-19 test results so why not.
I have followed this site since early 2013 while I was still contemplating GS surgery. This site provided me with great info and sometimes even help on a personal level. One of the features that helped me validate my decision to follow through, came in viewing the featured before/after pic. The pics changed frequently back then, often every day.
I remember how I struggled with my most difficult stage of the process, the pre-surgery, two week, liver shrinking, liquid diet phase. I still recall the no coffee, no diet coke, no solid food and how much I came to hate the taste of yet another vanilla shake meal. It was in times like those that I would look at the before/after pics and remind myself of one of the more vain rewards of the process as I sipped more of the liquid.
Since meeting my goal I considered sharing my before/after but it seems that if someone is willing to share their pics they are "rewarded" by their images being displayed for weeks, even months until another person finally feels like sharing. I don't seek that much exposure. I'm a private person but knowing how much those pics helped me I feel newbies may be missing out on a comforting resource. Even I would be willing to share if I was assured the pic wouldn't be in a featured space displayed for longer than a set max like maybe a week, tops. Perhaps, the folks who administer this most helpful site would consider a tweak to their procedure thus affording those among us who are more introverted to better support the newbies. After all, there is a mechanism to reset the # of post/person data, why not replace the features before/after pic at same time? If no new pic to share, a meme encouraging others to share could be posted.
Just a suggestion.
PS I applaud those of you that do post your pics! Thank you.
