    Default favorite meal replacement

I am 9 days out and after a very rough start am lots better . One issue I am having is I can drink and eat jello ect ok but the MRs that tasted fair to ok before surgery are yucky now . Not sure why maybe my taste buds are still under influence of the anesthesia ? Have been trying to mix with my coffee even tho I like black coffe to just get it down . But there is only so much coffee I can drink !!! Anybody else have this . Iworry about getting plenty nourishment . Don't won't to get sick .

A lot of people have a complete change in taste after surgery. They tell you not to stock up on protein shakes prior to surgery as you may not like that particular one afterwards. All I can suggest is trying a different brand to see if you can find one you can tolerate. I sure don't miss the early days post-op where every single sip was a challenge. The good news is this will pass.

Yes, tastes can change after surgery. As Katrina suggested try a different flavor or brand. Just buy small quantities or ask for samples until you find something you like again.

If you have a Vitamin Shoppe near you, they will take back protein shakes even after you've opened and tried them. Good Luck!

For sure taste changes. I cannot tolerate lemon, but lime is ok. I prefer Premier Protein shake in my coffee, but can't do too many flavors. Only cokies & cream.

Water is still the best, but not much protein, lol. As you move forward, after your first year, your protein grams can be adjusted downard a bit IMHO. My doc said 45-60 grams daily was enough at my height and age.

I do track it. But I had hair loss, and its now back to normal. Don't want to risk it again. Vanity wins!

I do good with ice tea and I mix it 50/50 with the Nector protein powder . They say the Nector is tasteless but that is a bit of a strech .
