So why do we go to the mountains, hike about 10 miles with about 1800 vertical feet elevation a day for 7 days, eat healthy, no junk food, no alcohol, and hubby comes home weighing 5 pounds less. I come home exactly where I left off. No fair.

It isn't fair! The guy who owns one of our local pizza places eats pizza every day for lunch with no gain. I have to limit myself to once a week, and there is always a gain. *sigh*

Congratulations on the new house! Views are fabulous, as will your life be.
No, it's not fair. But then again, they live with "testorone poisoning" all their lives. Jim is 6'1" tall, 220 (and turning 73). He stays the same weight regardless of eating cake & ice cream, cookies, etc.
Maybe the higher altitude keeps you "denser", lol! But you look fabulous. And healthy! And happy! It's only a number as we always say.
But I would like my lowest number to have been my forever number. It just wasn't. BMI is good, clothes fit well, and my health is great.
Maybe I read too many Seventeen and Glamour magazines back in the 70s Still want that number.
I remember an article in Seventeen that "zaftig" was okay as long as your waist was 23".....

Katrina, even "back in the day" at my bulimic thinnest, I would never have had a 23" waist! My ribs have about 1/2" clearance to hips, so not much waist at all.
We all carry lots of "old" messages - this one stuck with me. I am not an number -- not my weight, not my height, not my waist -- maybe my IQ lol.
