    Default Crickets

It's been so boring here lately, and I think I've finally figured it out. There have been no elective surgeries since this whole Covid mess began. And even now I can't imagine getting on a plane and going to a foreign country. This place used to be more fun!

    Hi all

We are finally coming out the other side down here in New Zealand. No new Covid-19 cases diagnosed for 14 days :-)
We look like we will get to level 1 next week which means everything pretty much back to normal for us but there will still be boarder restrictions - so no getting on a plane and leaving the country for a little while - and no tourists coming in to spend their money either sadly.
However things are definitely looking up. The lock down period and restrictions look like they have all been worth it.
We have unfortunately had 22 deaths which although very very sad is not bad for a country of 5 million. All of those deaths were elderly with other underlying health issues.

Tourism and hospitality has taken a huge hit and we have had many job redundancies but the government is looking after everyone as best they can and I hope that everyone would rather our economy is looking a little bleak than we had many other lives lost.

Sometimes it's not too bad to be living on an island at the bottom of the world.

I'll love to come and be a tourist when the world gets back to normal. That is if you have cool hiking places of course!

You are right! Maybe that explains why two posts for cooking pork chops is displayed daily.

I still am doing WW but my weight is not where I want it. Almost 140 (the weight I maintained for 4 years) but last summer I was 130. I swear it's stress, as I'm eating well and hiking daily. My WW leader did remind me I climbed Kilimanjaro last summer. It's gotten so bad I've had my husband hide my scale. I get it once a week on WW weigh-in day. Everything still fits from the last 6 years, and my pants are a little tight.

My anxiety is through the roof. First it was covid, but now the rioting and destruction is just killing me. Not to mention many of my relatives think there is no problem with destroying every downtown in the US, stealing merchandise, and shooting at police officers. They think we should donate to bail funds for the criminals. Maybe they want to send $ to the person who killed the black police officer in St. Louis. They call me a racist for not condoning violence. I totally understand the Black Lives Matter movement, but I don't understand the riots. There has to be a better answer. I want our country back, where we accept everyone no matter what their race, politics, sexual orientation, religion, whatever. Most people do, but there are always nut jobs out there. I am willing to help in any peaceful way. Love you all!!

I did get off Facebook as a first step to reduce my anxiety and depression. Facebook was full of hate.

HI! It is nice to see everyone is doing well and still here. I am looking to follow the 5:2 diet to try and lose the 2 kg I have gained during lock down and then the last 2kg I have wanted to lose. I am sitting between 61-63kg at the moment and am not happy. I am definitely a stress and boredom eater and I need exercise to keep my weight down. I have gone from gyming 5 days a week and doing weight training to running around 3 times a week and walking everyday. Due to my previous eating disorder I still weight myself obsessively, sometime 5 times a day. My husband has threatened to rake the scales away but then I go into a panic. The weather in the UK has been good until yesterday and that has helped with the current situation. I have just bought my dress for my daughters wedding which hopefully still going ahead in January 2021, and I can't afford to put on any weight. I am hoping it fits when it arrives. I would also like to visit NZ one day. Stay well and safe everyone and keep posting. xx

I'm new here just looking around for information and success stories. The ups and downs of this procedure. I'm from Wisconsin and looking to get the gastric sleeve done in January.

I'm originally from Milwaukee, but have moved maybe 14 times since, East Coast, West Coast, and everywhere in-between. Ask away, any questions you have. We're all happy to help. My surgery was over 6 years ago. I'm maintaining my loss, but I can't say it's easy. But the losing was super-easy and I refuse to go back!

Sharon, so I've been absent (but good).
Maintaining equilibrium in spirit is why our bodies stay at one weight --- and being stressed, your body figures you may have to move quickly. But you'll get back where you are.

Love you all -- same invitation to NC (not as far away as NZ) -- we do have the little Smokie mountains. I grew up in the foothills of the Cascades in WA, so not really ever been excited about the Smokies App or even the Poconos (hills, lol).

Maybe sometime we could ZOOM???? It feels like the opening to the Brady bunch but once you get going it's ok.
