Hello everyone, my name is Mayra and I had my surgery on May 14, 2019. I weight 230 pounds, since then I have lost 40 pounds, and I am stuck....not loosing any more, what should I do?
That sucks. I’m sorry to hear it isn’t going as planned. I’m sure everyone will tell you to keep and food log and see what you’re eating/how many calories. Creating deficits in your food intake and calories is the only way to lose weight. I’m sure you know all of us and have reviewed your food intake. Maybe speak to your doctor. I have heard of people getting revisions or doing bypass after little success but I don’t know much about that. Best of luck to you!
Hi Mayra
A couple of things I would suggest. Get a kitchen scale if you do not already have one. Measure all the food you eat and log it religiously!! I use My Fitness Pal app on my phone and I have been logging everything I eat since my surgery back in 2014. That is the only way you can see where you need to fix things. Be honest and log everything, and I mean everything!! You would be surprised how little bits of snacking add up. Make sure the meals you are eating are in line with what your doctor/nutritionist laid out for you.
The next most important thing is exercise. Extremely important to be active if possible. Obviously get the go-ahead from your doctor, but doing some type of physical activity 4-5 times a week will help you burn more calories and fire your metabolism up. I do walking/hikes/yoga and most importantly resistance training.
Everyone always talks about eating right, and that is the most important thing but I think people underestimate the importance of activity, especially resistance training. There are so many health benefits!!
I hope this helps good luck!!
You CAN do it!!
Tony
Keep doing what you're doing. Stalls happen. No worries!
Hey there! Don't be too hard on yourself. They're right, measure everything that you eat and as much as possible, don't consume sugar. Exercise is necessary and more water.
