Smile Low carb - 3 years out

It will be 3 years in July. I still can't eat a lot but with Corona and being furloughed I found myself eating often. I finally stepped on the scale and was unfortunately not surprised to see a 12 pound gain. Ouch!!! I had been maintaining for so long. My husband got a great job almost 2 years ago and has been celebrating eating frozen pizzas after a late shift so he needs to take off some weight. Well now that I'm home 24/7, I have time to cook. I have lost weight multiple times. Losing has never been a problem. My problem has always been maintenance. So here we go... I went back to what was the best for both of us and you're not going to like it but yes it is Atkin's induction for him and a variation for me. I don't need to be that strict. My problem is, I'm having some trouble digesting meat, more specifically chicken, ribs and steak. Even hard boiled eggs so if anyone out there knows of a good site with low carb recipes that are a little easier on digestion I please share.I lost 7 pounds last week and while that is great, I would really like to continue cutting sugar and white flour out of my diet as much as possible. Good luck to all. This is an awesome site and you all are inspirational!

We all find what works best for us! And maintenance is a balancing act all the time, at least for me.
I am baking a lot (and sewing) with the stay at home. And bless his heart, my husband eats most of it. I made rhubarb streusel bread this morning.

I try to limit my carbs to crunchy fresh vegetables, but we aren't perfect.

Keep on! Track, weigh, measure and enjoy good health!
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0
    1 YR = 122.0 2 YR = 140.00 2.5 YR = 139
Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

Maintenance is a little different for all of us. You have to find out what works for you and be as consistent as you can. For me, when I regained, I went back to Weight Watchers, I needed the accountability. Track your food, weighing and measuring is what works for me. Good Luck!

You can do it. Losing was super easy but maintaining is not. I basically stick to low carb. For dinner we always follow the "rule of 2" a protein and a veggie. Best of luck, great to catch it now before it's more!!

Coronavirus hasn't been much fun for lots of people in lots of different ways.

I have baked a batch of cookies each week since we have been in lockdown and my partner and I allow ourselves one a day with a cup of tea in the afternoon. It would be so easy to eat more of them. I love baking and generally don't do it so that I don't have anything in the house to tempt me but somehow in lockdown it seems to be a comforting thing to do so I am allowing myself a little leeway for a couple of weeks.

Well done on losing the 7 pounds so far!

Yes, maintenance seems to be when the hard work starts....and everyone has to find their own way or dealing with it.
I find the tracking my food and weighing/measuring helps me stay on track.

Carbs are no-ones friend as they?! But they generally taste so good :-)

Good luck - you can do it.
