    Default Easter

    Hello everyone.

It's very quiet on the forum and I totally understand why.
We have other things to think about at the moment.

I personally am finding it hard to get enthused about anything much at the moment.

Thankfully I am still working (albeit from home) and as such still getting a salary, so at the moment I don't have any financial worries. I'm not sure how long that will continue though. I know that there are a lot of others not in the same position and that will be a huge concern.

I hope that you all managed to find a little joy over the Easter period whether spiritually or otherwise. I was in the "otherwise" category.
Yes, I ate hot cross buns and chocolate Easter eggs. They were delicious, I enjoyed every mouthful and did not feel any guilt at all.

Sometimes we just need to let go a little and have a bit of self indulgence - especially at times like these.
The key, of course, is to make sure that these times are "one offs" and don't become part of our everyday life. We know how that ends don't we?!

So, today we are back on schedule again. The scale was not too bad this morning but I am reigning back to my normal way of eating again from today.

So remember to be kind to yourself. If you need a little self love go for it. If it is eating make it a one off, and maybe look for other things to do instead like a lovely candle lit bath, give yourself a manicure, or maybe just sit and read that book that you have always been meaning to.

    Kia Kaha (stay strong)

    Lisa

HI Lisa, good to hear you are doing well and still able to work. You are doing well, even having treated yourself to easter goodies. I am finding it quite tough sitting at home, even though I do get out on long walks with the dog and I have stated running. I am missing going to the gym everyday though. It is our passover at the moment and I have been eating so badly as we are very restricted on what we can eat during these 8 days and I seem to be hungry all the time. I am trying not to beat myself up about eating unhealthy and look forward to getting back into a normal eating pattern again. Stay safe. xx

Lisa, Ellie - thanks for checking in!
We are "elderly" by American standards (68, 73) but uber cautious. And I'm finding lots to do. I think perhaps those of us who have been "retired" have found things prior to this that we can do.

I know when I was written out of work with health disability with 24 hours notice, I was very depressed.

PLEASE take care of yourselves. Kindness, doing something for yourself is healthy during times like this.

I am busy sewing masks for community volunteers who distribute food to those in need; croching perinatal hospice blankets, and reading.

I learned to ZOOM. Seeing my adult kids faces helped enormously.

We have fabulous neighbors, and I am grateful for everything we have.

    Hello Everyone
I do have to say that here at week 5, I am starting to have a little cabin fever. I am doing better than most and have no reason to complain. I continue to keep myself busy by crafting, reading and hanging with my doggies. Zoom has become very important in my life! My friends are staying in contact and my church activities have all moved over to that platform. I think if we had an end date in sight, we might be better, but since one is not forthcoming I'm trying to remain as positive as I can. Hang in there everyone!
