    Hi Lisa!
    Glad you are fine!
    Really? Happy birthday twice?
I'll remember that next time I wash my hands... :-)

Things are getting crazy here, the whole country is in lockdown since yesterday evening.
No more social gatherings, every restaurant, bar etc. is closed.
Only out for groceries (if available), doctors visits, things of that nature.
Though it seemed a bit silly to me, I have started weeks ago to stock up on my groceries, every time I went to the store I bought double or three times the amount I needed.
But now, now it has become reality, my pantry is full and I have enough to last me maybe two months.

It is getting warmer here, and it is said (although there is hardly any knowledge of the virus) that warmer weather will slow the virus down.
Let's hope and pray it does.
But you are going to have colder temperatures since are you going into fall and winter...
Take care sweetie, take precautions and be safe!

    I am really, really scared...
Our government has decided yesterday we are going to have "herd immunity".
If you don't know what that means, google it.
But basically they are aiming for a "controlled" outbreak.
"Controlled" to try to flatten the curve a bit, so that the healthcare system will be less overloaded.
But still a lot of people will get sick...
The UK is doing the same.

Hi dutchie. Maybe I should be worried but I’m not. I worked in the healthcare sector for 20 years and at the end of the day this is just a strain of flu. Like bird flu and swine flu etc. Yes it’s dangerous for people with respiratory issues but more like the common flu for healthy folks. Some of us have to get it to build up any anti bodies and resistance. The main reason it’s such a worry is because we (as yet) have no immunisation and therefore cannot stop the spread. The spread (the amount of people who could get it all at once) is what will claim lives as the health service will be unable to treat such large numbers of people. Try not to panic as it won’t help you, easy to say if you are worried I know. Keep healthy and fit is the best thing you are in control of.

It is a really scary time.

I think the best you can do is keep yourself as healthy as you can.
Avoid crowds. Make sure you are eating well. Exercise. Maintain good hygiene.

I am also taking some prebiotics for mouth and throat - they are call Throat Guard, and upping my vitamin C - as well as continuing to take my daily multivitamins.

None of these things will stop me contracting the virus if I come into contact with someone, but it might just give me more reserves to fight it off. Who knows?

The scary part is the unknown. None of us have experienced anything like this before. I guess all that we can do is take it day by day.

Dutchie we are always here. Come on in and talk to us if you need a chat. There will always be someone around :-)

    Lxxx

    Thanks Lisa!
I know, it is scary stuff.
I am one of the people at risk, due to pulmonary problems.
I stay at home as much as I can, but I still need my groceries.
Some stores have special hours for the elderly and other high risk persons, but not where I live.

But it is not even the virus itself that scares me the most.
It is the fact that we, as high risk group, are totally dependent on the actions of the rest of the population.
And, well, that is not a good thing necessarily.
The concept of social distancing is way too difficult for some.
They go out and about and are convinced everybody else is overreacting.
And that is, what really scares me the most.

I have been healthcare worker too for all my adult life.
So I know what is at stake here.
And I know to take this very seriously in order to get out healthy.

I wil do everything I can to make sure I am in the best condition I can.
I take my vitamins and extra vitamin C.
I take walks and get fresh air and sun whenever I can.
That is all I can do.

    Stay safe and well sweeties
Take care of yourself and your families.
    But take this seriously.
    This.Is.Not. A. Flu.

I heard there is no such thing as Herd Immunity with this virus. So much we don't know, other than this is going to get really bad.

    I agree, this a a huge gamble.
But it is where we are stuck with.
And we haven't seen the start of it.
It is going to take months and months at least...
