    Default 5 years out

Well, it's been 5 years, started at 360 lbs, got down to 300, had the surgery and now am at 165. I feel good, only negative is thinning hair. I still wear size large shirts, but size 32" pant waist. I still can not eat much, wife and I generally split a meal when we go out, or both get a kids meal. Bread and potatoes are difficult to eat, they fill me up SUPER fast. I take a daily multivitamin. Doc said, after last physical, "I don't know how someone age 52 gets numbers this good".
For me, the surgery was, I believe, a life saver. Very difficult genetics, mom passed away at age 69 from stroke, in my family, about age 50 you start getting the bad diabetes, heart disease, and the like. I have none of those issues.

    Life is good.

Great work! I'm 6 years out. Taking the advice of a doctor who says, "Don't get cocky!" I know it's something I will always have to be thinking about. This doctor claims they don't even have statistics for 5 years and out, but they don't look good as far as regain. Not us!

7 years out and still holding my own. Eating can be problematic. Still can't eat pasta or pork. It was good to see your post.

There is nothing I can't eat. Sometimes I sort of wish there were things, like bad choices in food. At the ski resort today I had 2 chicken tenders. But I did ski all day!

I think don't get over confident that my relationships with food is always on target works for me.
Yes, I have the occasional exception to the healthy rule.

My renewed health at almost 68 is something I cherish; as self-pay, I have to view it as a long term investment in the quality of my life, and of that with the people who like me in their lives

Hoping at 2 3/4 years, that I've figured it out....
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0
    1 YR = 122.0 2 YR = 140.00 2.5 YR = 139
Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

Just read an article that says many gastric sleevers are going back for second surgeries to make their stomach smaller again. It's still a constant battle to not gain weight. Mem

These people must have amazing insurance coverage. No way as a self-payer would I have a 2nd surgery. I will work the program and keep off my weight!
