In addition to meat I get my protein from cottage cheese and eggs.
Eggs are great because you can have the prepared in so many different ways.

Thanks kiwigal, i have been having an egg most days. Also going to be having lots of fish this week. I've bought salmon, king prawns and yellow fin sole. I've bought some cottage cheese to try too, used to eat it till i was about 6. Don't know if I still like it.

I don't know if you can get the same types of cottage cheese where you are but I only like the one with chives. I have it on a light crispbread type cracker with tomato and pepper and salt. This is my lunch most days :-) (I have 3 crackers and 125g cottage cheese - along with some finger salad veges.)
Fish of all types is great. Fresh salmon doesn't like me anymore (was my favourite too) but the tinned is fine, go figure! Prawns - yum. Love them.
What about protein drinks that are not milk based? Are you in the US? I think there are quite a few to choose from. Someone will be able to advise.

I've bought the plain cottage cheese but actually i think i would definitely like one with chives better. So if this one isn't nice iwill buy a different one.
I tried loads of different protein shakes and couldn't stomach any of them. I spent so much money on them too, so don't think I'll try anymore. I love crackerbread, I've been having a multi seed cracker. Very thin and low in calories but 2g of protein each have it with small amount of low fat cheese spread, deli meat and salad.

I am in the UK and i think that's where advise can be really different. I have been looking on you tube at videos where people have been really successful following vsg, looking at what they eat in a day at each stage.

I'm in NZ. It seems that everyone no matter where they are gets differing information.
You sort of have to wade through it and find what works for you.

You can always mix stuff with the plain cottage cheese to jazz it up a bit. I sometimes add diced gherkins but you could chop some fresh herbs or whatever you fancy really.

So, just to update after my stall i have since seen my dietician, who is really pleased with my progress and how I'm doing food wise. She is happy with everything i have been eating but recommended cutting down my protein levels slightly so I can fit in another portion of fruit and veg.

I have also weighed twice since i posted, the day after and today. I'm pleased to say I'm loosing well again. 1.5kg both weigh ins. I was reassured that no loss is perfectly normal at any stage. I also looked at my losses overall. I am 47Ibs down since I started my pre op diet 11 weeks ago. That's 4.2Ib loss a week on average, or 3.5Ib a week on average since surgery just over 8 weeks ago.

Always a good idea to consult the professionals to get the right advice for you as we are all different.
I'm sure the losses will continue :-)

Or just google the "Dr. V Diet" on YouTube and try that for a week. Get back to me and tell me how it went. It is really helping me shake things up after 6 years of eating eggs!! Having my cholesterol tested this morning, and we'll see if a month of eating this way changed anything. I have a horrible family history of high cholesterol and early death due to heart disease. The sleeve did not change my numbers, I'm on medication and they still have to watch it.

It's super easy, a green smoothie for breakfast, a big ass salad for lunch (his words, not mine), a sensible lean protein based dinner, no snacking, and lots of water. Try it for a week and see what happens.

I'm lucky that my cholesterol is low, so no problems there. I still don't know why i had a stall but the next 2 weigh ins have been great. I lost 3.8Ibs followed by 5.5Ibs at last Monday's weigh in. Thanks for taking the time to give me all this information. I have been watching him on you tubr and finding it helpful.
