Right, I bought my Ninja over the weekend and had my first smoothie yesterday. Not only did it taste great, but it sustained me way longer than my old protein shake ever did. Today I am at work and didn't want to have to bring the Ninja with me. I'm not very good in the mornings so didn't want to have to make it before I left for work. I also have my breakfast a little later on as I can't do eating first thing in the morning. So I made my smoothie last night and froze it in my shaker. By the time I was ready to have it this morning it had thawed out and once I gave it a quick stir it was as good as fresh. I'm hooked. Thank you Sharon :-)

I am doing his February challenge. Day one was meditation, he wants us to meditate daily. Day 2 was a gratitude journal, which we are to do everyday. I'm good at the journaling, but have never meditated. But I'll do it.

Good for you. I'll be interested to hear how you feel.
I know I should make time to meditate - and practice more yoga....it may happen one day...… ;-)

Meditation is brand new to me. We are to start with 5 minutes and add a minute a day. Our goal is half an hour.

Does anyone have any recommendations for brand/type please? They are quite expensive here so I don't want to make the wrong decision and get one that isn't right.
We have a Cuisnart, with the Consumer Report info, seemed a good purchase. However, I think you can make your smoothie with whatever machine you get. Sometimes you need to add a bit more liquid with a cheaper machine. Ice cubes!

I have been incorporating the smoothie since September. Because my blood sugar still drops and spikes, I use 1/2 an avocado, which is Dr V's suggestion if sugar is your issue. I use spinach, because it's buttery, but have had sweet kale, and don't mind it. Sometimes, even though he's not a proponent of yogurt, I use non fat Greek -- depends on what's on hand.

A caution on the soy milk -- if you have had BC, docs don't recommend soy product. Like all things, caution, your own physician/body will help you figure out what you can do.

I find I have lots of energy and no impulse to snack when I have the smoothie. I wasn't sure how well I'd do with one, since I don't like ice cream type textures, but there is enough roughage that the consistency is not too smooth for my odd preferences.

Let me know how yours go!

Had a protein shake yesterday for breakfast. Hadn't done that in a long time. Purchased Beyond Meat burger patties. Cooked them in my airfryer had a "taste," tasted like a real burger to me!

Beginning week 4. Still no meat. I have had salmon twice. I can say that I've been sleeping much better and I have a lot more energy than I had before. Still learning and trying to incorporate more greens.

I love salmon! Didn't use to like it, but found a great "slow" oven recipe that keeps it so moist, but still perfectly done. I also have a couple of casserole things that use healthy veg and brown rice. Love tuna. We haven't eaten lots of red meat in many years - one of the few small changes that were not too hard to make!

sraebaer ~ I guess the almond milk and soy milk are sugar-free? or maybe also fat-free? I may have lactose intolerance since the surgery and will be looking for alternatives. I also have been a fan of Dr. V. He has a helpful little book that I read called, "Weight Loss Surgery Success".

    Bonnie,
I've been using vanilla soy milk. It's not sugar free or fat free. I've also used almond milk. Either should be great for you if you are lactose intolerant.

Six weeks later, and still no meat or dairy. I haven't lost any weight. Actually, I've gained a pound that I am not happy with, but I'm not giving up.

I don't eat so much meat these days but don't want to give it up totally.

We also eat less meat and more veggies. You can try banana heart as meat equivalent in making veggie burgers. And also try potatoes, cauliflowers, sweet potatoes as main ingredient.
