Hi. I have been considering WLS for 2 years, and in the last year decided on sleeve surgery. My husband is fully supportive of me, despite the financial implications, but my parents and sister keep saying that I can do it on my own and believe a dietician/ personal trainer would do the same job in a less dangerous way.I don’t know how to answer these questions and argue my case with them. I am under no illusion that it is an easy way out and know it is a tool. How would the rest of you who have had the surgery answer this argument. I have never tried a PT or dietician but I have been on every diet possible since my teens so I’m not doing this on a whim. I wish I never told them until after but As I have to travel abroad for the surgery, I need their support to look after my children. I just don’t know how I can ever have the surgery without their support.
