    Default Merry Christmas Everyone!

Not many here anymore, but Merry Christmas to all my virtual friends. Love you all, you've kept me on the straight and narrow. Just got back from 9 days in Colorado skiing and snowshoeing. My heaven! The kids and grandkids all come tomorrow. We left to drive home at 2 AM so am a little tired.Attachment 28560

Have to admit I'm a little nervous. After almost 2 weeks of exercising and staying the same weight, now we're home for 7 days with 9 extra people visiting from other states, 6 little ones and 3 adults. Of course everyone has favorite treat requests. Give me strength! So far I've only made meatballs (no sampling there) and cookies (whoops!!)

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and had a great Christmas! I enjoyed mine, probably too much, as the scale is creeping up to numbers I haven't seen in a few years. I would have thought that after almost 9 years post op,"I would have known better" than to get into the cookies and chocolates. These foods are my temptation lately and they're winning the war on sweets eating, however; I'm going to put my foot down and also the hand that's picking them up mindlessly and eating them then feeling that guilt associated with doing something that you know darn well you shouldn't have done Food, protein that is, doesn't seem to be the problem, eating too many pieces of chicken, salmon, etc. isn't happening, it's the goodies and the more I eat, of course, the avalanche happens and I can't get enough. Still can't fit too much into my sleeved belly, but certainly enough to make that dreaded scale read numbers that I haven't seen in a few years since the initial weight loss.

I appreciate the ability to vent to others who seem to know what's happening and who might even be experiencing a lapse in making better choices. I resolve to get back to my usual 4-5 days of fitness and protein first, in fact; I'm going back to the pre op diet on January 2nd and being cognizant about my choices until then.

Merry Christmas to you sraebaer and the rest! This is my first Christmas with my sleeve which I’ve had for about 6 months. I ate a little more than usual on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and I did have a small glass of wine with both meals, but nothing like in the past. Today I’m back to two protein drinks and a small meal as well as hitting my exercise routine hard. I’m looking forward to hitting my goal early in 2020.

I've also indulged but hey, we're all human, and we're doing maintenance the way that humans do. We indulge a little and then we get right back on the horse and do what we're supposed to do. Don't be so hard on yourself jerzy, you are definitely one of the veterans that I look up to because of your openness and honesty. I know that you will get that scale to cooperate again. As for me, I have one more party on New Years Day and then its back to basics for me. I'm committing to 30 days of clean eating and back to my gym routine of 3-4 days a week. Let's be kind to ourselves! Happy 2020 everyone!

Happy Holidays Sharon and all our friends!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful time with your loved ones!

December has been complicated here in Paris, so many strikes and issues with commuting, and it doesn't seem to get better for January.
I went to a training mid December, enjoyed the sun and warmer temperatures in Nice for a short week, but the return to rain and strikes was even more difficult...and I did catch a very bad cold, first one in six month...(not being anemic anymore made a huge difference in my health!)

Anyway, I hope you are all doing good, I had a few meals with "too much celebration" (high carb, high fat plus devil chocolate) but balanced it with low carb/salad with high protein the other days and the scale has been fine so far. I will check again next week...trying not to stress out...but like all of us I still worry..

Anyway!! I hope you all have some rest and days off to rest after all those meals!! (and hard work to prepare everything) I know it's been nice to be warm and cosy after those awful weeks with so much rain and cold temperatures, right when we are out of transportation.......the only good side of it is that we all exercise for real (like most of us walk 10 K per day just to go to work) but I can't wait for Spring!! warm temperatures....sun!!!! argh!!! miss those!!

    Take care!!
