Default It's been FOREVER and I need a refresher. AND has anyone ever had a hysterectomy after wls?

Hey y'all! It's been FOREVER! The last time I posted, I was having teeth removed and struggling with anemia. I found out that I had a fibroid tumor the size of a softball and I had some decisions to make. I got the depo shot to stop my cycle and had 6 weeks worth of iron infusions. I opted for a complete hysterectomy. My iron levels were finally at safe surgery level by 10/31 and my hysterectomy was scheduled for 12/9. I finished having all my teeth removed and got dentures while I was letting the time go by. My doctor warned me that she was going to try to do my hysterectomy laparoscopically but because I've had so many abdominal surgeries and I had so much excess skin, she would probably have to do an abdominal. Well, that's what happened. My uterus was enlarged and the fibroid tumor was too large to be pulled out of my belly button so they cut me on my csection scars, except they had to cut an extra 1.5 inches on either side. They had to fill me with more gas than they would have if I had been obese because they needed my excess skin out of their way. I have to say, this is my 10th surgery and it is the most painful. Of course, the moment I get home and not able to drive, everyone gets sick and I don't have a choice but to drive. Everyone I had lined up to help me ended up having their own emergencies. It has been a long 5 days since I've been home. Soooooo..... to my refresher question. Do grits count as a liquid? Because I'm not allowed to take gas relief pills and feel so full, I've had the hardest time getting my liquid in for the day. I hope everyone is doing well! -Michelle Ellis Facebook @FaithFueledMama6 Instagram @FaithFueledMama6

I don't think grits are a liquid, but you could ask your doctor's opinion. Either way, feel better! You've been through so much.

No. Grits are hominy, which is a starchy grain. If there is any chewing, it's not a liquid (said the NC lady) If you can have pureed soup (per your doctor) you could make very watery grits (no butter, no cream).
