    Cool Greetings

My husband and I were tired of yo-yo dieting and decided to take the leap of faith Dec 6, 2019 and have the gastric sleeve procedure. So far so good.... He needs to lose 75lbs total, and myself 60lbs total. We went along for the last decade dieting and losing 1/2-2/3 of our goal and then gaining it back. I tried a personal trainer for 3 months, who got me down 30, but I still gained back 7. Our thoughts were we needed to physically limit how much we can eat to stop our weight roller coaster. We have made the decision based on our investment in our health to never let ourselves overeat again and to stop at the right amount and to slow down enough to keep going with new good habits.

Welcome to the group, JennLynnKerri! I hear in you as I was self-pay as well. And I will say I have NOT overeaten in 2+ years. But finding maintenance a tricky balance. Up/down 3-5 pounds.

But oh my the wonderful health! Congratulations to you both on making such a positive decision.

How are you both doing? I am 3 weeks out and not doing as well as I had hoped.

Nice that both you and your hubby have decided to commit to your health and wellness together. At least if you both went through the process together, you have understanding of the requirements and restrictions the process requires. Harder when your spouse is eating "real" food and you are severly limited. Thanksgiving and Christmas were really hard here - did LOTS of cooking, but was either on pre-surgery liquid/shake diet (Thanksgiving) or post-surgery liquid (Christmas). Hope your journeys go well. My only suggestion is to find something physical you both enjoy and make it a focus for your future -- my hubbie and I both enjoy kayaking the river, so we're going to give that a whirl (Michigan - right now all is ICE!)
    Best wishes for your future!

3 weeks? What is not going as well as you hoped/ You won't be losing much weight those first 3 weeks as your body is adjusting. If you are healthy and doing what you should, things are going great.
