    Default Slowwwwwwww.....!!

I am almost two months post op and I’ve only lost about 30 pounds. I see all these posts of people being 60
Or 70 pounds down and I’m so sad! It makes me want to cheat because even when I’m 100% perfect - it doesn’t seem to make a difference! They have me at two protein shakes and one 1/4 cup of protein a day - which is about 450’calories a day. I can’t do any “less” than I am. I’m frustrated!

BEFORE you panic -- how old are you? How tall? How active? What was your pre surgery weight loss (in my case attempted weight loss) like?

Slow and steady is not too bad -- and 30 lbs over 8 weeks is almost 4 pounds a week. Our body has lots of adjustments to make post op, and some of it depends on a bazillion other variables.

    SO --
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0
    1 YR = 122.0 2 YR = 140.00 2.5 YR = 139
Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

Don't ever put the word "only" in front of pounds lost! Have you EVER lost 30 pounds in 2 months? You're doing great, keep it up. And don't compare yourself to others, that never works. Someone may have 200 pounds to lose and someone else may have 60. Men typically lose faster than women.

I am surprised you're not eating food at 2 months post op. I was cleared for all food at 6 weeks, protein first, then veggies, then good carbs if room. I was never told to count calories. Your diet sounds boring, maybe that's what's frustrating you.

HI Turtle girl, before you start panicking and giving up you need to remember hat you a have already lost an amazing amount of weight. You must also remember that everyone's journey is different. You have to take into account your height, age, weight pre surgery, medication, medication you take etc. You also have to remember everyone has different exercise needs. keep going and if you feel you arent losing quickly enough, go back to basic for a weeks or so and kick start the weight loss again. I have to take my own advise and kick start my weight loss in order to lose the last few kg. Good luck and remember its your journey no one elses.

You've ONLY lost 30 pounds in two months? Have you ever lost that amount in two months? Sounds to me like you are right on track. Your journey is your journey. You will find in this forum that every one is different, every doctor is different in their after care instructions and everyone loses weight at a different rate. Slow and steady is what keeps the weight off. You are two months out. This is a lifestyle change. You can do it. Talk to your nutritionist as like Sharon said, I was eating regular food two months out. Good Luck!

I've tried to not look too hard at other people's losses. But to me 30Ib seems great. Ive never lost that quickly in my life. We are never happy with our own accomplishments though. Sometimes it helps to ask yourself if a friend was saying this to you how would you respond.
