    Default 6 weeks post op

    Hello
I知 6 weeks post op and have been struggling . I started vomiting almost every day . My surgeon took me back into surgery to dilate my esophagus and stomach due to strictures. I知 3 days outs op and now have severe burning in my chest and still difficult to get anything down due to the burning . I知 on meds to see if it helps if not prob back into surgery or surgeon will check my gallbladder . Did anyone else have issues ? I知 very nervous but I知 still being positive , I do love my surgeon . He痴 compassionate and really wants to help me !
Any one else had issues right after surgery ??

I have not, but look up Katrina's posts, her daughter suffered extreme problems with the vomiting for so long. See your doctor every step of the way. That is not normal. Sending positive vibes!!

Have him prescribe Carafate in liquid form to help until you can get things sorted. My daughter and I both dealt with this long term. It took about 9 months before I stopped getting admitted to the hospital, and I truly believe the cafate helped tremendously. My daughter's was too bad and left untreated by her shitty doctor at the hospital, so she ended up with lifelong disability. And you are exactly the same point it started happening to us... right about 6 weeks. So glad your doctor is trying to help, and make absolutely certain that if you're not able to keep anything down that they supplement you with B1. It's critical. There never was any exact reason it happened to us. My doctor said sometimes it just happens and you just have to wait it out and of course do any hydration and vitamin supplementing necessary to keep from it becoming catastrophic. Best of luck to you and your doctor in getting it under control.

My issues were not as severe as Katrina and her daughter's, for which I am grateful.
I still struggle on occasion from throwing up (well toad-froth), and/or heartburn. For me the culprit is now the eating too fast, or even a tad too much. Listening to my body is a learned skill for me.

Do be sure they check your gallbladder, as that's a known sleeve issue. Mine was already out before the sleeve, so our course of treatment was different.

Thank you Katrina ! I am on carafate that’s the first thing he did but doesn’t seem to be working . The pain from left side to midline and back is painful when trying to eat , when I’m not eating it’s tolerable . I see dr this Thursday . Ok on the B1 I’m not on that and I’m trying to get the vitamins down . When I eat the nausea hits and unfortunately vomiting within minutes . I’m on Tagamet, Nexium, Tums . Carafate and still hurting ugh. I’m hoping it’s a phase and will pass very soon . I’m actually going to hydrate me for IV THERAPY this weekend to get my vitamins enzymes etc in me and for hydration . I’ll keep you updated . Thank you for your support !
